It said that I was speaking to a live representative, so unsurprisingly I didn't stay around after seeing that I wasn't speaking to anyone.

In the entire process of starting a new live chat, unless a support agent actually joins the chat, there is nothing that says you are "speaking to a live representative". It says that you will be "chatting with the next available agent." No support agents happened to be available in the 1 minute you gave us to answer your question.

There aren't currently any advertisements on our home page. Do you mean the namecheap advertisements on our Web Hosting and Minecraft Hosting pages? If so, those are temporary until we start selling domains, they should be removed within the next few days.
