My god those prices are so competitive, where can I get a better deal?
For what you're getting, the prices are competitive:

  • DDoS Protection replaces TCPShield ($100 value)
  • Pufferfish+ Fork (there's no other comparably-performing fork with these features on the market, we blow the performance of any other fork completely out of the water, and are only beat by the best private server forks, which you'd spend thousands developing. I mean, this thing beats out the open source Pufferfish fork, which we also developed, by 25-30%, and other paid MC-Market forks by about the same margin, without making any changes to vanilla gameplay.)
  • We do performance support for you, you won't need to find somebody to help with optimizing your server because provide free consulting for that.

Other hosts may have slightly lower prices for the hardware you're getting, but nobody else can even come close to matching what we provide.

TCPShield uses OVH Ddos Protection, "Pufferfish+" sounds like can be replicated quite easily in Pterodactyl using an docker egg, with the same optimizations if not better, prices are almost 3-4x more than what is even acceptable, to me it looks more like you're just overcharging users.

You can get the same type of Ddos protection by using KVM Tunneling and some more monitoring softwares for cheaper, with more control
Pufferfish+ is a private fork that we developed, which can only be used on our hosting platform. It includes features like async entity tracking and async pathfinding. It can't be replicated with a pterodactyl egg.

I don't know what you mean by "KVM tunneling", that's not a thing. Do you mean GRE tunneling? Sure, but you still have to pay for it, plus in that case you're not protected against L7 attacks and OVH internal floods (which is what TCPShield actually protects against) which will easily take out any GRE-tunneled server. Not to mention the added latency you will incur doing this.

We are not overcharging users, and if you look at our direct competitors in the "high performance hosting" market, we charging approximately the same as them. We are not currently targeting a "budget" hosting market, if your goal is to get a server as cheap as possible, you should not use our services. However, if you want the best service that exists, with the best software that exists, with the best hardware that exists, then we are as cheap as you're going to get. Nobody has better software, nobody has better service, and only our hardware can be matched by other hosts.

Your pufferfish+ panel sounds like an average install of WineSpigot, while there can be some other optimizations It is not something most players will want, as per GRE Tunnel, that is essentially what OVH does, if not worse, protecting from OVH internal floods can be done without tcpshield, as per this fork, do you have any performance charts etc? For Ex. Winespigot on Pterodactyl, Vs. Winespigot on Pufferfish+ or even vanilla paper on either?
You misunderstand. Pufferfish+ is not a panel. Pufferfish+ is a standalone fork. Like you'd install a jar file for Winespigot, or whatever else you want to run. It's the same concept. But it's far faster than anything else on the market in terms of modern version forks. Winespigot is also a 1.8 fork, while Pufferfish+ is a 1.19 fork. It doesn't make sense to compare apples to oranges, performance will obviously be different for unrelated factors. Compared to other 1.19 forks which modify vanilla gameplay mechanics and generally just resort to disabling features and breaking the game in unexpected ways to gain tiny performance advantages, Pufferfish+ does it correctly. We don't modify any vanilla behavior, don't create any bugs, and it's completely safe and doesn't take shortcuts that could lead to unsafe things like world corruption or plugin incompatibilities. Oh, and, it's faster too.

Regarding internal floods, this can't be protected against unless you have a large amount of capacity. TCPShield does this by spreading out the traffic across many nodes. But if you were to try to set this up yourself, you would be spending thousands of dollars per month on OVH nodes to spread out all of the traffic enough to not have flood issues. You also are not protecting against L7 attacks at all in that case. Because we pass all of our traffic through Cosmic Guard, we don't have any of these issues you'd have trying to make your own DIY DDoS protection solution, which isn't even really going to work.

We've been operational since October and have many customers happily paying our prices, because they recognize the performance and support benefits that we provide over other, cheaper hosts. Please stop trashing the thread. Thank you.
