Skywars, but some big servers use it, but you can make it cooler by adding a kitpvp system within it :eek:!
Skywars is like a kit pvp, The chests are there for a reason. + you can buy tools and weapons with points.

I have a good idea for bigger budgets. This idea is adapted from Star Wars. Basically it's like factions but better. When you start the game, you are in the mainland (spawn and 500x500 wilderness). You can not build anywhere on this planet, not even wilderness. Basically, this is where people come to have epic fights. Now, when you join the server, you obviously have your basic kits and what not. But there is something else, in order to actually go to a planet where you can build, you have to join a faction. These factions work like skyblock. When you make or join a faction, your faction will receive a planet. These planets would be 300x300 each. Each planet is 50 blocks away from the next. In this planet, your entire faction will be able to break and place blocks. Your entire planet plus 10 extra blocks (to disable easy access to other's planets) is protected from enemy's placing blocks which will usually result in players making huge obsidian walls around their planets and other factions making tnt cannons and traps. This is just basic stuff and so much more could be added if you like the idea. I have other ideas such as jump boosts and what not :). Let me know if you like the idea.

So I was also thinking since it's space themed, it could have that airplane plugin where you could make ships and you can ride them across the map. Of course this would need to be though out because it would take a decent computer to be able to run this. Also with all the new planets being created, you could have sort of a clear lag plugin but for the planets where basically it would clear any factions with no members on for 2 months straight. Of course these would just be the minor things. Also you could make it so that donors have the ability to get custom guns in their kits (use crack shot) similar to the ones used in the Star Wars movies that shoot lasers. This could easily be achieved with a texture pack.

1. They wouldn't need to learn much. It would simply be factions with a form of Skyblock added into it. Many servers usually solve this problem with a tutorial or a handbook to know what to do.
2. The same way many servers made factions fun. The need for PvPers to prove to others that they're better and the great thing is that you won't be bringing in one player at a time. Usually people bring in groups of friends of 3 or 4 and they make their own factions. This makes the server grow rapidly and since they have players to compete with, they don't leave and enjoy the server.

Ideas:
-PvP: The server is based on a war between two armies. The war will consist of two main stages: preparation and fight. When the game begins the players must get resources to improve their walls, armor, weapon, and food supplies. Examples would be woodcutting, player cut wood and bring it to camp. After reaching a certain wood count, the walls increase level. Mining resources, improves armor and weapon. Farming, improves food supply. This period will last 2-5 min and when the time is up players will be given their armor, weapon, and food supply. The fighting stage begins and being killed means you become spectator. There are two ways to win, by killing everyone or killing the enemy army's king(villager). At the end, you can announce the MVP (Most kills), and stats (time, how many soldiers are left, etc).
-Survival: Simple survival server, but the difference is you can only talk to nearby players (100 blocks). There is no general chat, besides the lobby. Lobby would be before being spawned into the survival world. You can add highscore of the player with most days survived, most Mobs kills, least deaths, most players killed, etc.
-Minigame: There are 2-4 teams, and each one is standing in a line of blocks in a void world. Each player will have a bow and certain amount of arrows. The point is to drop the other teams from their platform, while being careful of not falling. Every 10 seconds they will be given a new arrow, or if they drop a player they get another arrow. Quick games.

If you are going to get a developer, pay him a certain amount that you are willing to. Then you can give him a certain percentage of the profit of the server. These would keep him arounds for bugs, updates and administration of the server.

It's for higher budgets but it shouldn't be outrageous. Maybe $300 or less. Badger is my recommendation. He's a great developer.
If you are going to get a developer, pay him a certain amount that you are willing to. Then you can give him a certain percentage of the profit of the server. These would keep him arounds for bugs, updates and administration of the server.
most devs don't take percentages as payments.

You can make a gamemode where you have speed 10 or something huge and you need to run a straight line and monsters show up sometimes and it's basically a super fast race minigame against friends, to see who can reach the goal. Idk if you should be able to hurt other players but that's up to you. You can also add boosters etc. :3

Maybe you could go for a parkour gamemode. You can either have players complete parkours and rank up each time they complete a difficulty. In the other hand, you can make it so completing parkour set gives them a reward, for cosmetic use or money to unlock other maps or perks.

You could also think of something related with casino theme. Make people earn coins by different ways: PvP, mining, survival world, etc. Have activities in which players can bet as the PvP fights or minigames. This idea is kinda general because you could go in many different directions.
