Hello, the title says it all. I'm wondering if it's right to use F&F for someone purchasing my plugins. I'm new to PayPal and apparently it's against the rules to use F&F when purchasing something. I've been scammed before when I used goods and services so I decided to make a TOS regarding F&F. If you have any suggestions on how to avoid scammers, and what to do if you did get scammed. New to this website too, almost 1 and a half month now.

Thanks!

So I guess they can just make a chargeback any time once they purchased it? Anyways, thanks for the info! I guess I just have to save proof of me giving them the plugin so if they claim a chargeback/refund in the future I can win the case. Though I don't think that's enough because I was charge backed by someone claiming that they didn't receive the item but in reality I did give it to him. So I sent the image of me giving the plugin but somehow paypal was in favor of the buyer and he was refunded.

Any suggestions on how to win cases such as this?

My biggest suggestion is to avoid taking PayPal payments (unless the user is trusted/reputable). Start accepting and using BTC/ETH, or other cryptocurrencies. There's no possible way for someone to charge back you after the transaction hits 1 confirmation. All transactions are irreversible, so it should give you a sense of relief and whatnot.

As for buying/selling accounts, items, and it is highly recommended to use a trusted Middleman. I'm personally not too very sure for plugins but I think it would be best if you asked them to pay first and then send their plugin(s) to them after the payment is received.

If you're probably going to use PayPal to receive payments, I would recommend you stay away from F&F. Use G&S. Most sellers online use F&F because they just don't want to deal with PayPal's fees. They also think it's safer than G&S, which it really isn't, especially when there is actually no buyer/seller protection. Also, I suggest making them leave a note, it'll give you a decent edge if someone decides to charge back you.
  • "This payment is for (your name/paypal email). This payment is for (your service). I am the authorized account holder and this payment is authorized. Payment is final and a refund will not be given in under any circumstance."

As to deal with potential scams/suspicious customers, I would log the conversation as much as possible in both screenshots and a text file. Make them confirm that they're this exact user by confirming onsite and their information along what they want from you. This will be very handy in disputes. It's honestly better than nothing. This will also be beyond useful in making scam reports.

TL;DR, I recommend using cryptocurrency as you have the peace of mind knowing you can't be charged back. If you decide to use PayPal or for some reason can only use PayPal, take G&S. The fees may be a turn off, but it will help you in the long run. Please make sure to tell them to confirm everything with them before dealing and then log everything as it'll be useful in scam reports and future disputes.

Hmm, well I might start using Bitcoin, might need to take a look at it more. But that's most likely not everyone has Bitcoin which means they'll just go with PayPal. So I guess just saving screenshots and whatnot is necessary when doing transactions. (I am new to this!) Would prefer crypto though since transactions aren't refundable as someone said above ^

Thanks for all the replies. Have a good day/night!

Just know that most wallets require you to have ID to buy crytocurrency. To just receive, send, or hold, you don't need ID. You're right, not everyone has Bitcoin and not everyone is willing to use Bitcoin, but that doesn't mean there aren't people that do. Exchangers exist throughout all marketplaces now and are willing to exchange for people, for a fee of course. Just ask them to use an exchanger, it's honestly fast and easy.

No problem, and you too. <3

I got some more questions regarding Bitcoin, can anyone give me a brief explanation on how Bitcoin works, and how I can have a 'bitcoin wallet'? From what I know, Bitcoin is a crypto currency which can be exchanged for your local currency.

Any suggestions in having a secure 'bitcoin wallet'? I know I can just google this but it seems like you guys are experienced with Bitcoin so. :)

Also, does Bitcoin have an app of some sort?

A very simple summary is that Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency, the most known and used cryptocurrency. It's not really too different from PayPal. If you have BTC, you ask for their wallet address, and send them the amount of BTC they asked for. Vice versa. Do note that BTC and all other cryptocurrencies change value 24/7.

Everyone has different opinions on which is "the better" bitcoin wallet, I personally like Coinbase and have been using Coinbase for the past year or two. It's one of the most known wallets and is one of the safest in my opinion. It requires ID though for most things which is a turn off for a lot of people since a lot of people in these kinds of communities are under age. It also has one of the least fees when buying cryptocurrency and if you use "Coinbase Pro", sending fees are practically non existing for small transactions.

A wallet that's popular in these types of communities is Blockchain. Most people use this because it caters to the younger audience as it doesn't require for you to have ID to receive, send, and hold cryptocurrency. It's also very user friendly and basic. I haven't used Blockchain in a long time but I didn't mind using it. Compared to Coinbase, it's mediocre.

Exodus wallet is a pretty known one too, but I personally would stay away from it unless you don't mind how cancer the fees are. However, it looks very clean.

foffy actually on f&f I pay double the amount because of fees. It depends where do you live. If you live inside U.S and the seller is also inside U.S, they don't need to pay fees. If you are on EU and have € as first currency and the seller is also on EU, then you don't need to pay fees for it. But if both cases are not available then I will say f&f is one of payment that has high fees. On g&s payment the seller will pay fees (only 50cent I am sure for that).

Idk why you decided to bump an old thread, the point of the whole conversation was G&S is safer than F&F in multiple cases and if you want pure safety and certainty of no charge backs, you should use cryptocurrency.

I was pointing about the fees that you mentioned only. I didn't talk about the main topic. I was just correcting only. Sorry for bothering
