Mojang has these servers on the list, not sure what's going to happen to them. So far, many people can still join.

The only reason mojang would shut down servers is if they did not comply with the EULA after being warned and they have past their grace period date with not changes made

I'm guessing they didn't comply, you'll have to decode that. Fortunatley, keemstar and his team did most of the work already.

What does blocked mean exactly, and why is it blocked?

Players can't join those servers, seems like only people using 1.9.2 are blocked from joining.

ermm no. Most of these are pvp and faction servers. I don't play pvp neither do I play factions much at all. The servers I do play on, mineplex, hypixel and the odd smaller servers. I'm guessing you're against the eula because you want to sell pay2win items on your minepot store or non-cosmetic items. Ok and since you decided to try and pick a fight with me. I'll do the same to you.

/u/autorek submitted a thread on Reddit claiming he found Mojang is blocking players from joining certain servers.

Server list could be found on Mojang's sessionserver website. The entries are believed to be SHA-1 of server hostnames. According to OP's research, some servers hostnames are able to be found here.

The following code exists in Minecraft Client 1.9.3.pre-release.2:

It's quite obvious what that is doing. Upon a player connects to a black-listed server, the client will throw a network-related error after 0.1 seconds (while connecting).

Lmao, I know Saito the owner of GOTOVP. Hes always been about the money, never gets anything custom for his servers. I knew he wasn't going to comply, instead he does a 50 percent off sale to milk as much money as possible until Mojang does something to make him comply.
