For the past few weeks, Mick has made several decisions that many of us have questioned/been upset with.

All I ask is for is a formal announcement or poll asking the community what we think before the change is made. Of course, this won't always work with things like punishments, the way staff promotions are handled, etc. But changes such as the setting of Funny ratings to neutral should be polled in the Announcements section before the change is made. Not after and on Twitter.

I have to go soon, so I made this thread short. I'll edit it with more information later.

This suggestion is perhaps the best I've ever seen with my solemn eyes.

I would have made one myself, had I not already participated in a private conversation with Mick about it, and received the impression that a change would be made.
...I know a lot of members, as well as myself, don't like to find out about changes to the site at the very moment it's happening...
... I do agree that official posts will always be the best way to stop an argument before it even happens....

But with the abrupt removal of the funny rating, and then only asking for opinions after the fact...
Even though I couldn't care less whether or not they're neutral.
I see that very little progress has been made concerning communication of these changes.

We need complete and total transparency.

The moment you come up with an idea for a change, let us know.
Give us the opportunity to discuss it, and settle, before implementing it.

It's the only reasonable option.
The one thing above all others, that I want to see a change in.

I must say that I personally feel we need to be more transparent about what's going on here at MC-Market and what changes we plan to make here at MC-Market. I understand where you guys are coming from.

Personally, I don't really care about ratings, so this last change didn't bother me, but I was just as surprised by it as you guys were. I had no idea the change was being made myself.

It is my personal opinion that MC-Market should be a little more transparent and open to the community. After all, this is a community forum. It is my hope that I'll be able to assist in moving toward more transparency and openness as a staff member here at MC-Market.

Wow; I have never seen a suggestion so completely correct. I hope that sometime during the future of this site all of the changes that are made are polled. We are doing considerably better - some things are polled before they happen - but it isn't enough. There was no warning for when MCM was down, there was no warning before funny ratings were deducted - it just happened.

MCM needs to work on a lot - although it is a good site nonetheless. People have stayed here for a very long time, and it has always been super successful. Most of the staff team is hard working to keep MCM running smoothly.

Something I didn't like was the way the population of MCM reacted to the downtime - people were really mad at rocket, for some reason. Although their sales went down for quite a while - it wasn't rockets fault. Rocket was called in to fix the problem that had happnened, not the one who made the problem.

It's funny, I remember seeing Linux saying #DemoteRocketorRiot in the shoutbox, when Linux was the one that made MCM stay down for longer than the necessary time after the fix was found. He was the one that was DDoSing MCM.

Let's get back on topic, sorry for going off on a rant.

Big forum affecting updates will usually make it to the suggestion section first, and implemented with other updates in batches later.

Thanks for the suggestion.
