The best place to start is in my opinion something reliable and trustworthy that will set you off for a good start.

Unfortunately the vast majority of YouTube tutorials or cheap Udemy courses are severely outdated and teach you poor coding standards leading to race conditions and your code becoming progressively harder to maintain due to its poor structure.

Many people think that coding is difficult and boring, and that long code is extremely hard to decode - wrong! Coding can be both fun and exciting, and the more you code the more you know!

If you have absolutely no Java experience, I would go and fit a mentor that's a real person, can actually sit down next to you and explain you the concepts you'll find most difficult over and over until it becomes effortless.

Either way, I created a complete online-course that requires no previous knowledge and teaches you both Java, Spigot and even making money from sales. That was after over 6 years of coding in Java (almost daily) and launching dozens of Spigot plugins for servers worldwide so I always ensure you are getting the highest standards possible. Link [here].

PS: Best of luck on your journey!

I was in your shoes at one point but I already knew exactly what I wanted to do; web design. I had no idea where to start so I just started watching all of the tutorials on YouTube. Once I learnt the basics I continued onto CSS3 but I didn't stop there; I started downloading pre-made sites and skimming over the code to see if I could discover some features I didn't even know.

I would highly recommend for you to do what I did as HTML5 and CSS3 are really simple languages, you just need to be creative :)
