This suggestion is pretty simple. I always see people asking in the chat box for example - asking if theres anyone who could carry out a specific job or task. As a new member, or even a not very active user, it can be hard finding people that offer specific services. This got me thinking. Why not have a separate page or even a tab in the members section which would be a categorised list of all the skilled and talented users.

Since the list would be categorised, you would be able to easily pick out the right person for a job. If you need a designer, there would be designers on there. If you needed web devs, cinematographers, builders, content creators - they would all be listed in their own categories.

**EDIT - To make it fair, everyone could have the ability to select their area of skills in their profile. Then they would be added to that category in the list.

Now, I know that there are both positives and negatives to this, it's just an idea

What if people could select their category in their user options, then they would be added into that category? So it's not just the highest rep people.

MCLancer is a sub-service of Chump's (I'm the COO) company, Duotopia. It was supposed to be a list of sponsored freelancers.

I don't think there is need to promote specific users... We already have' Minecraft Services' where people are offering their services.

And if you choose appropriate section you can find what you are looking for pretty fast and you don't need to worry about long response time on PM (because if person has 'upped' his thread then he is active and ready to work) or service provider not being able to work for you right now and as a result you have wasted your time contacting him.

+ all those reasons stated above... This can push out of business new guys or list would be very long...

And not to mention at the moment you can easily find most active service providers and look at his thread, vouches, past experience, portfolio, prices and different offers... list of names would make this more time consuming to find the right person for job and gather some info about him/her.

And if there is someone who is looking for any services in shoutbox feel free to forward him to appropriate forum section.

Agreed. I personally have never had a hard time finding service providers on MCM. It isn't really that hard to find the person you need - just go to the sections - they are organized for the community to be able to easily see where to go.

I liked the idea, but I realized it really would be cluttered, and if they have the most vouched users on the 'top', then the new service providers will have no business.

What makes this different from creating a thread?

I don't think people have issues finding the right people.
