I've posted so many threads on this, but this will most likely be the last.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MCnff8

I believe the motherboard is quite good, I don't know about the RAM. I've also heard well from the power supply, and everything else on there. I'm on an $800 budget, and will get some parts (The Video Card and HDD, and case) from frys.

One question: What's the chance of getting a dead part? and is there a chance of it shorting out everything else?

Thanks!

ignore the case, im getting the case from frys too*

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

FYI, I've only just got into this just myself, but, if you are working with a $800 budget, why are you under? Go upgrade those pieces!

Also, if 'fyrs' means friends then I don't know about that... I assume that they are used. Which parts are they?

And finally, with the additional parts you are putting in, watch the power requirments, you may need to upgrade.

It looks alright, I'd personally recommend a 6gb 1060 (I have the 3gb and I am mildly disappointed) and getting an SSD to boot windows off of, because you'll get a significant performance increase from that. Even just a 120/250gb one (I LOVE the 850 evo, have bought 6 of them. Never had a problem.) My computer took 80-120 seconds to boot till I went to an SSD, takes 12 seconds now.

Don't buy windows there, buy it from rexs123 (http://www.mc-market.org/threads/180162/) because it'll save you a lot of money. I've bought 3 keys off of Rama and have not had an issue.

I've forked your list and made the changes I recommend and you've ended up saving $2 and gotten a better GPU and a 120gb SSD.

As for your concerns about getting a dead part / shorting stuff: take logical precautions while building and don't have anything turned on while you put parts in, make sure you're building in a static proof environment and be careful to touch as little as you can. I recommend watching some LinusTechTips build guides and such to see where he does and does not touch.

Don't buy windows 10, use someone from MCM that sells windows codes, it saves you sooo much money.
Also, if you have a 800 budget, upgrade your ram to 2x4, it helps speed up ram if you really care about that.
The CPU is also kind of weak for the 1060, might want to upgrade the cpu or downgrade the GPU.

Everything else is alright for a budget pc, you could also look on youtube for guides if you want to maximize and see how it performs.

Personally, you might want to order an anti-static wristband if you have carpet floors, and don't build it on anything that builds up static.
There's a slim chance of getting dead parts, and most companies have quick response times to get your replacements/refunds.
I think a i5 - 6500 / 6400 can handle a GTX 1060, what do you think of the new AMD cores?

I personally haven't looked at them much, and apparently they're more for productivity rather than gaming.
I was only worried about bottlenecking, not the CPU not being able to handle it, as some games may not be able to look as good with a CPU like that.
Ah right.

AMD will work almost as well at 60% of its capacity, while an i5 will get to 100% capacity when playing most games, but the only issue is that i problably wouldent be able to get a cooler so[DOUBLEPOST=1493515258][/DOUBLEPOST]

Didn't read the part where you're buying them at Fry's.
I bought all my PC parts at Fry's, it basically has everything. You can build the PC there too, to make sure all the parts work.
The Fry's reps are also helpful asf when picking parts, good luck :)
How long did it take to build yours? Also im not planning to overclock or anything, i think the CPU is locked anyways.

As for the chances of "getting a dead part", don't worry about it. They are quite low IMO. Just RMA it if it happens no big deal, you probably won't loose more than a few days if you even loose any time at all (depends on the part).[DOUBLEPOST=1493605486][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh, and ditch the Windows install, get a Windows key on eBay (literally under $10), then get an SSD.

It's honestly a waste of money to get B-model motherboard and a K processor, as the K are unlocked processors, and the motherboard is not compatible to be overclocked.[DOUBLEPOST=1493567584][/DOUBLEPOST]
It took me about 3 hours, and an hour was figuring out which cable I wired wrong. I'll be more than happy to help you, just PM me if you need anything :)
The issue about windows is that my dad doesn't want me getting it from a sketchy place, so i do have to spend that much money on an OEM key from microsoft

Also if you could, whats a motherboard under $70 that could be overclockable? Also im going to upgrade to a 1060 6GB

Show your dad all of the vouches Rama has, it's really worth saving that money.

Spend a good amount on a motherboard, trust me, it's worth it. My motherboard cost more than my GPU and I looooooooove it.
