"High Quality."

If you look around any marketing section here on MCM you see this term. This term is misused so much and definitely not for the right reasons. I see these types of threads with honestly the worst graphics possible saying that they're "High Quality." I'm obviously not stating this towards anyone that actually works as a full-time designer, developer, etc. But for the people that work 1 hour a day and think they have the right to slap on "High Quality" to attract customers, I can tell you it does not. Not only that, but the term "High Quality" is just used too much. Customers want someone that is unique, and affordable, not someone who is just like anyone else.

Indeed anyone is doing this is just trying to make their thread titles a better "clicking bait".

The most annoying part about this is that it leaves those few of us who actually produce 'high quality' short on simple adjectives. I could become very poetic in the titles if I'm selling something, but then half the website wouldn't know what I meant.

Yes the term is misused a lot. I have also used it (knowing full well my graphics aren't very good, at least that's my personal opinion) but the issue is the competition MC-Market has. It's hard for new designers to come in and make a shop with thousands already making graphics. New designers are bombarded by members asking for vouch copies just because you have no reputation. Users use the term high quality to draw people in, and that it why you ask for a portfolio with proof of them owning the work because that way you can decide for yourself. People interpret the words 'High Quality' in a lot of different ways.

If someone is producing a "high quality" standard of work, then they are more likely to be noticed by potential customers without having to use the term in the thread title. If "high quality" content is being sold and produced, word soon spreads around people would start becoming interested. For example, I only signed up a while back and haven't been active. I work as a web designer for a living and I would say the work I produce is of a high quality. If I were to make a shop on here, not to sound big headed but I wouldn't be that worried. If people can physically see the standard of work you produce, you need not worry about competitors with the term "High Quality" used in their thread titles. Unless like Dynaxel said, the competitor does it full time as a job.

It's still bloody annoying to see "high quality" being used for something shittier than my first medieval castle I made 3 years ago.

I agree, it's very misleading.

yep. nothing to be done about it though. I had a period where I would point out to almost everyone misusing it that they were doing just that, but it wasn't very fruitful.

Totally agreed, although I never seen the castle.

The thing is advertisements like "high quality" or "#1 on the market!" are totally subjective somebody may look at a house built completely out of dirt and hate it while one guy from nowhere might find it amazing.

(That's just an example and I doubt it anyone would actually find that amazing)

This is mainly used in graphics sellers, they'll say high quality but its really just some text on a image that looks like fucking shit, now don't call me a hypocrit because the person who made my profile pic does em for free. But people who sell these and call it high quality is retarded.

"High Quality" is simply rendering something in like 5000 pixel quality or some shit. so dumb
It used to be super-prevalent in builds as well.
