I need to fix my staff team

So I made the biggest mistake in server owning history and made my staff team mostly irl friends. Now I have a team of staff who act like they are 6 and never respect anyone, or do their job. Worst part is every time I want to demote someone one of my really good friends always guilts me out of it.

I was ignorant about it and just dismissed it, but in the last 2 weeks it got really bad and I need help, it all started when there was a "Staff revolution" most of the staff ganged up against me and one of them even went to the point of threatening me if I rebuked anyone for it. I should have ignored him and fired everyone on the spot but I didn't. So last week we were together irl and one of my friends started telling me that he would run the server so much better and if I didn't make him an equal partner my server would fail.

I sadly faced up to it and told all of my staff that there would be a staff meeting the next day and they better all show up, he didn't. So I have a follow up meeting coming up and I have some material that we are going to cover (we are not going to accept this disrespect any more).

So two staff members though they should join a call with some random players on the server, fine, I warned them about people getting IPs over skype. So now half the server has 80% of the staff teams skype info... A few of the staff members became friends with some of these people and I got a report that two of their "friends" were hacking and I had received 4 proof videos that I showed them. Surprise surprise they dismissed the videos because they were "it could have been lag, the video was blurry" and "I have been accused of hacks because of lag before, it could have been coincidence" welp, the player was using hacks because I nailed him for x-ray two days later (and he admitted). So they also made an enemy with another player on the server and they would not stop trying to get him banned, I did end of banning him after I got a screen shot of him "cyber bullying" someone. But the screen shot showed 2 people bullying, one of them was their friend, so they wanted to let their friend off the hook and perm ban the other guy who was doing less of the bullying! (The guys they wanted to ban was there "enemy")

I hope that wasn't to much/ too hard to read, if you have any idea of what I should do please let me know. Anything helps, it feels so much better to have that off my chest

Thanks for the offers, but I really want some tips, I do agree that a few hard demotions should help.

Best way to settle these, is guilt trip them. Yes they're your real friends, but if you're trying to run a server professionally and not lose players, than you have the right to demote them because they are ruining that. Mature now or suffer later should be what you say to them.

I would seriously consider a 3rd party with no feeling towards your staff. This prevents guilt tripping and hate as you "arent in control of the staff"

As Owner you should have not an "iron grip". However you should have a reasonable grip of control over your staff, in this case your friends need to be shown that staff is a responsibility and a privilege, not for trolling or fun or power abuse.

I concur. In his situation, He needs to exert power and dominance to gain respect. He needs an iron grip if his staff are revolting.

I said not an "iron grip" because my co-owner tried doing that, and yes it worked, but no one likes to be held so tightly. (unless you have some fetish for a power hungry person to dominate you)

But at the same time you need to let your staff know that you are in charge. Btw I only meant now use an iron grip. Once everything is settled relax a bit.
