Hi,

I left MC-Market a few weeks ago, and been inactive for several months. I've not been on MC for the past 6 months. How is the game, are boys still playing it, or is it dead. Is it worth it, to spend a lot on a server, and obviously earn back more than spended, if i spend the money correctly? I'm not talking about spending 50 bucks. I won't say the budget, as it's high. Between 100-1000/2000.

Yep its dying definately. Seen a significant decrease in the amount of players on popular servers and this market for example by about 30% over the past year or two.

ANOTHER QUESTION, MEANWHILE ANSWERING ON THE GENERAL QUESTION:

Is it worth it to make a server, even tho we know the MC community is dying?

I'd say no, everything is too saturated and it take's a lot of money to get going. Let alone growing a player base.

If you're making a server for the money, probably not.
But if you're doing it for the enjoyment then definitely :D

I don't even enjoy MC myself, so no - it's not for the enjoyment.[DOUBLEPOST=1526068340][/DOUBLEPOST]

What about the MC Resources on MC-Market. Do people still look forward for resources, or is that dead aswell these days?

There seems to be a pretty high amount of demand for things like website templates and spigot-forks if I'm correct?

What about setups, or configurations, such as Anti Cheat configurations, or solving the issues that are cross it. I'm not a developer. I suck at coding, just know the basics. I'm more into making setups.

Its slowly dying, but it is still a massive game, its up to you if you want to make a server
imo "the game is dead/dying" isnt 100% a valid argument yet but we know its gonna happen sooner or later

Alright thanks for the answer.

Not heard one yet who has said that the playerbase on MC is the same as it was a few years back. I suppose that it will be gone soon.

It is dying yes, but I believe Mojang is apart of the blame aswell. They dont focus that much on the pvp community of minecraft. Theres nothing new D:

I will not say it's dying.
MC is an endless game and beyond that, there are over 1000+ developers that work for servers and for the community and making something new. + Mojang is also working to make a lot of improvements in the future.

I mean, it's endless. so why dead?
How can it even be dead? It's a game of endless fun if you know how to play/use mc

Doesn't matter if you're having fun on it. Most people aren't, hence why they're leaving the game and moving onto new and better things, causing the game to die away as it is losing its playerbase.

It's dead because no one wants to move on from 1.8 because Mojang is too fucking stubborn to fix the glaring mistake. After that, I think the game would thrive with all the new features. All servers are running 4 years behind, it's ridiculous.

That and the game gets stale after a few years.

Unless if they come out with a new version with 1.7 pvp, yes. It’s going to die.

While the player base is decreasing, I think many of the players will come back for a while at some point. It's an easy game to fall back on when you have nothing else to play.
