Hello, I am absolutely tired of all of the builders, developers, etc here.

I recently hired 3 people to create 2 plugins, and 1 build.
Sadly, all three of these people either backed out, or didn't get me the stuff in time.

Its getting very annoying hearing excuses such as "IRL issues" everytime someone doesn't get something done. This is obviously to buy more time.

People need to take responsibility for their time management.

A new rule that should be added is a 50% refund for all commissions not completed before the scheduled time. No matter what.

Yes, a very few amount of people might actually have issues. But truthfully, most people just don't want to make time and decide to just make excuses instead.

I get what you are saying, however this could well damage the amount of people that commission here. Even if you were an hour or day over the deadline for whatever reason legitimate or not you'd lose out on a lot of potential money.

Again, people need to manage their time better.
Maybe it would be something like 3-6 hours after the deadline.

I recently had to refund a massive prison project i was commissioned on. I had un-foreseen family issues that lead to personal time being limited at home. I couldn't have been held responsible for that. I did give them the choice of continuing or refund though.

Some intensive to produce on time for those who are illegitimate would be great though.

I like the idea behind the idea here, but it would be hard to enforce. Not to mention any service provider could adopt this sort of policy if they wanted to.

The other problem with this is there are factors that come in to play when determining whether or not work gets done on time. For instance, I generally have to wait for some clients to tell me what they want and how they want it before I can begin working. They don't always answer right away, so there are delays.

Usually people give the details, then decide on a set time..?

Sometimes, questions need to be asked along the way, things come up, people have shit on their dedis they didn't tell me. It happens more often then you'd think.

Shouldn't be forced on all businesses which I partially agree with
This shouldnt be a MCM rule, I think it should be encouraged for all services though.[DOUBLEPOST=1461453635][/DOUBLEPOST]And not 50%
this post here, but I don't like the not 50%. I believe that if a legitimate emergency came up while that user is doing their work, and had a specific deadline than they should be free and able to provide evidence of such emergencies (though i hope this doesnt happen or is abused)

as for people who do have deadlines, I think this should be a policy enforced since 50% is a steep price. If this isn't enforced on most threads, than I recommend you the OP in the future make TOS that is strictly undeniable and make sure you pay plenty for the job at hand, and not lowball users (one of the main reasons why users never finish jobs = underpay :p )

Be clear with a terms of service that you want the service in time. If you cover a 'late delivery' part in it, you can use that to back yourself up.

It's upto you to decide how you want to do your deals.

MetalMonkey I have a feeling that you made this thread for something.... Not going to mention it. Anyways, your job to decide how you want to deals here on mcm. You can create TOS for every deal you make. If the developer counters the TOS and you agree to it, you got a deal. If the developer declines it, you just walk away. It is your responsibility of how you set up deals with other people. Every service works differently here on McM. You don't automatically get a partial refund when the product is late. You would rather have a good product than a bad product right? Anyways excuses relating to IRL. IRL is always important than the business on mcm. Why? Well let say, you don't experience life yet. What happens if a death happens or personal issues. I rather settle that than continuing doing business on mcm. Here's why. You rather be in top condition to do services on mcm instead in a bad condition making the service bad. Life is not a game. MetalMonkey give me some evidence of how most people uses an excuse to make up time for the product. I can assure you that you haven't experience life yet and haven't encounter all the issues yet.

People who commission others but don't pay in time should pay a 50% fee for not paying in time too? :p
Nah but I offer 50% if the art isn't done within 24h for my chibis because I KNOW I can make time and if my power cuts out for that long or something, I can afford to give it back. It shouldn't be a rule, but the person should be able to (if it affects their business) ask for a part refund or maybe a discount. Refunding it all because something out of your control is kinda bs if you've done a lot of work on it so a killtime downpayment should be implemented?
But honestly, these ideas are ones as people should have between each other when they make a deal, not rules as it's so easily abused (all those minecraft skids ddosing you so they'll get a refund)

This ultimately boils down to that each transaction you do is governed by whatever terms you agree to with the other party. MC-Market shouldn't get in the middle of that.
