More Active Staff

Hey friends, I'm making this suggestion as I've been waiting for ages to get my "Support ticket answered and resource accepted" accepted/answered. I think MCM should start looking into hiring more staff to accommodate the overflow of users. Please leave a comment to say if you agree or disagree.

Here is what we need to do in order to fix the staff team up.

Demote the following users:

Mick - He is the owner of slabcraft and only has a chat mod rank cause he was the ex-owner so we need to get rid of him as he doesn't do anything.

Jack - I never see him or interact with the community in any way. He just sits there with his mod rank.

Errota - He is to busy with his hosting company and doesn't care about MCM. Like if you go to his profile every recent post is about his MC Hosting company. Advertisers don't equal moderators.

M6Gaming - He is a great scam resolver, but a bad mod. I think he should just stick to scam reports and loose the mod rank.

Promote the following users:

morganjp - He definitely deserves mod and is super active. He's got a great personality and very few people dislike him.

Deep - He deserves chat mod and will work his way to mod.


Make these changes and everyone is happy except for those who get demoted.

There are two sides to this and two types of valid reasons that support either of the outcomes of this suggestion. Let's begin with the "yes, I support more staff needing to be added." Okay, we may need more staff, but not for all positions. M6Gaming is doing extremely well as a scam resolver, but I don't think he exactly needs both the roles of SR and Mod. He does create a lot of time for both, so we could let it be for now. Then, we have Errota. I have seen little to no activity from Errota for a long time now and think that it is definitely necessary that MCM enforces that their staff stay active. This may also just be me, but yeah. The chat moderators do quite the job of keeping both the chat and the forum generally great - but I don't see a lot of them, unfortunately. We don't need that many staff. We need probably two more staff members. One resource moderator and one moderator. We might want to "lose" a moderator, and promote someone else in their stead as well.

Now, the against side. We have a great staff team who "arguably" do their jobs. Especially M6, . I have to say, I've seen many of our staff doing their job. A lot more then the previous staff teams. It seems as if they work together rather smoothly. Should there really be change when it isn't necessary? Remember the drama that resulted from that? Gladly, BeBosny is our new owner and he changed stuff back (all except the name ) and will definitely make the right decision on this suggestion.

I hate to break it to ya, the "more staff" case seems a bit stronger for me... Let us see what other people have to say...

The staff are fine, plus bebos will not change the staff team at all.

& Bebosny said he will not take new stuff and such or remove old ones, he is fine with the current staff team.

Okay - so.... A lot of people are just plain calling the staff BAD and INACTIVE. I think these steps are a bit too far. I think that the following staff need to be changed. Obviously these are just my input - nothing final or even proper.

SCAM REPORTS STAFF - 0
RESOURCE MODERATORS - (at least) 1
MODERATORS - 2 (at least.)
DEMOTE MODERATORS - 1
ADMINISTRATORS - 0
CHAT MODERATORS - 0, maybe 1.

Agreed, we can't have inactive staff like Errota , and horrible staff like Jack . We need more staff like Gruss Justis Ajdin Coco and thebaum64

I mostly agree but I think Morgan should be banned. But Jeff being staff would be funny af. I know Nine wants to be a scam resolver

Just because you guys don't see staff doing work/being active does not mean tthey are inactive.. & You can't just ban a person for no reason or "I don't want to talk about it"...

The past three months I averaged 299 reports per month.

I think the mods are doing a fine job.. whenever I click that report button it's normally completed within hours...

EDIT: Some jobs just don't require interaction with the community when they can just be completed in the background.. such as answering reports so I think you should give the staff at least a little credit. That being said, I have never submitted a resource on MCM but have heard things about it taking far too long.. there can't be any harm from more people being able to approve resources...

This again, eh? Alright, here it goes.

I disagree that M6Gaming has too much responsibility. Those of you claiming that he shouldn't be moderator...are you saying that because you don't like some moderation action he's taken, or do you really believe he can't handle it? Scam reports are always his first priority and he does not moderate until those are done, from what I understand, and he seems to be managing quite well, if you ask me.

Jack is one of the best moderators I've seen here on MC-Market, personally. He bothers to do his damn job, even though he knows that he may get some push back for it and that's what a good moderator does and personally, that's the kind of moderator I want on my team. A moderator that doesn't give a fuck about users backlashing at him because they gave him a 5 point warning for something that clearly broke the rules. Kudos to Jack for caring about his role.

morganjp deserves a promotion for sure. I couldn't agree more with that. I'd love to see him do moderation/scam resolving again. Of course, that's something he'd have to be willing to do though. But I would have definitely promoted him by now. He does an excellent job and he contributes a lot to MC-Market.

It's very unfortunate that some members don't like some of the staff members of our forum. It's disappointing, actually. I personally think everyone has their strengths and weaknesses and everyone has done a fine job, in my opinion. Of course, my opinion is biased, but I don't care. At least I know what it takes to be a staff member on MC-Market. I don't many of you guys even care about what a staff member does. It's very disappointing.

That all being said, I have noticed some lack of activity that I, myself, am concerned with. I won't name any names or anything, but this would be a time where I think some tough decisions need to be made by certain individuals.

Back to the main suggestion though, before I ramble on too much. The suggestion is to hire more staff to accommodate the overflow of users, right? To that I say we have more than enough staff members to accommodate the amount of users we have. Our users just need to learn to be patient is all. We're a Minecraft marketplace forum. You'll survive if we don't respond in the first 30 minutes.

I think the current staff are fine. I think you guys understand that the moderator's only jobs are to do reports and make sure no one is posting content against the rules. This does not require for them to interact or post all the time. All the moderators work fine together in order to get the job done. As Jack showed, reports are handled despite the excess amount of them being made.

There are less scam reports open than ever with M6Gaming. He gets the job done, no one else is needed.

Ajdin is doing amazing doing all the backend work with him adding 1-2 suggestions a week, it's amazing.
