I want to suggest that instead of the "pin to top" button you have on one section that instead you add the abbility for each user to re-organise each forum section

I've already thought about this and it's very difficult (if not impossible) to do with XenForo. The nodes are basically hardcoded into XenForo. Modifying the core is just something that I won't do as we wouldn't be able to update XenForo as easily when a new version comes out.
