Hi, I'm glad I found this community, apologies if I'm posting in the incorrect forum. I'm looking to buy a server for my son who is a minecraft junkie. We all know very little about servers and such, and I would like to purchase something that requires very minimal upkeep or any kind. I can barely turn on a computer type of guy. Basically he wants to provide a server address and be a mod with is friends and cousins and play in their own private server. Any help would be greatly appreciated. They love pvp. Thank you

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Get a cheap host. This will be able to provide you with the server. It has a very friendly interface that you can use to start, stop, and restart the server. This allows them to PvP etc, add plugins. Plugins are basically what you can use as an addon.
For myself use
Minecraft Servers - Virtual Gladiators
You'd only need 1GB at Max to provide a few players and plugins.
Hopefully this helps!

Try to browse this section: Hosting there are a lot of hosting companies who can offer this service for you. (most of them are very similar) But if you don't have knowledge or time to choose most appropriate hosting company for you then i can suggest Fallout hosting or Anvil node (i'm not associated with them in any way...i have tested more than 6 hosting companies and these two are just my personal preference) Regarding setup/upkeep...if server will not be public and will be used only for few people then 1gb of ram will be enough and it's not complicated at all to setup...and if you don't need any plugins then it's as simple as pressing start button on multicraft control panle. You can also contact hosting company before purchase and ask them any questions you have and i'm sure they will assist you. Good luck
