No Arguing In Shoutbox Rule

I believe there should be a rule in place to not allow arguing in Shoutbox. I come in the Shoutbox to have decent conversations -- be semi social, and I can't even talk because two idiots are arguing and making the chat move faster than I can watch it. If two idiots want to argue on a forum, then bring it into a PM, or add each other on Skype -- but don't deprive me of the Shoutbox, and make myself stressed. I understand people like to debate, but don't take over a public Shoutbox for your meaningless argument. Thanks -- what do you think?

That, and my surplus amount of frustrated times when this exact thing happened.-- I battle with anxiety, and I can barely use this Shoutbox.

Only premium members have access to the shoutbox as it is, so that wouldn't do anything.

this is pretty much already a rule, you just have to report whoever is doing it if there isn't a mod watching shoutbox at the time

I vouch to deny this suggestion. Shoutbox should be a place of live chat, and communication of various thoughts, opinions, ideals, ideas, and other server related, mc related, world wide related. Basically everything should be allowed.

Talk about limiting the freedom to express opinions. if people want to sell stuff here, or talk about politics, etc. A shout box is the way to go. PM is just too slow, and shoutbox brings a community together on discussing issues.

You do have freedom to express whatever opinion you want, but not without it having consequences, good or bad. Selling stuff in the shoutbox is different than having arguments that don't concern the other 30 members there.

So essentially the problem is not that they are arguing, but that they're talking too fast for you?
If so, I'll try harder to talk nice and slow for you next time, but I would encourage that you get some faster fingers/eyes.

That you don't feel welcome in the argument. Like you have no stance. No opinion... Like YOU don't matter in the conversation, and therefore the conversation doesn't matter to you, and that's what ticks you off...

If that's the case, I'd like to gently remind you that conversations that other people are engaged in are not always of relevance to you... Sometimes two, three, four+ people are discussing something programming related, and maybe you don't know anything about programming, so you don't engage, or maybe we're going back and fourth about cars/sports/sports-cars, and maybe you don't give two shets, so you don't involve yourself.... Just don't involve yourself.
I know there's been plenty of times where Mick's talking with some people in chat, and I just wait, because not every discussion can just be jumped in on... It's all about give and take.

If you'd like to try getting people to talk about something you'd like to talk about... Go for it.
But don't get salty just because they're paying attention to a subject instead of you.

Some of us, like myself battle with anxiety, and it isn't always the best mentally to be surrounded by arguments, as it does take a toll on me. I am fine with small arguments, but I am sick of not being able to even use the shoutbox because it is too crowded with the argument, or it is moving too fast. No reason to be a dick about it -- I am happy to hear others thoughts, but there is a way to say it..
