Hello, I've recently been contacted by someone who wants something very similar to something I developed a while back. Except they want totally different features than what I'd developed, but the core code would still be the same. Would it be considered acceptable to reuse the core code?

I'd check with the person you initially sold the code to whether it would be okay with them. They're the people you should ask, not us.

I think he was asking if its allowed on the site to re-use code.

It depends.
If you developed it for your own use first, you can use it in whatever projects you want.
If you developed the code for someone else, then you may not be able to use it in whatever project you want.

Ex. A while ago I created a name/UUID caching system. It's about 4 functions and 2 MySQL tables. I use it anytime I need to use names/UUIDs on a site. Even MClaim is using it.

I was asking more about the legality of it.
Unless you signed a contract saying something along the lines of, "I am making this code for you and won't reuse it anywhere else", then it is technically "legal".
