Well McM, today has been a real action packed day! So today we had the user dadwd324wd go around impersonating me and both scamming and attempting to scam multiple users. In all honesty this could have all been prevented if one of our beloved scam resolvers M6Gaming could have done his job a bit faster. Now granted, according to what the higher staff say. Scam resolvers are working their hardest to ensure our communities safety. However, I've seen some of these scam reports last for at least up to a month at end usually ending in the conclusion most users can conclude with a day or two. Now I'm not saying that they don't help the community but I'm saying they could be a tad bit more efficient. Now, I voiced my own opinion on my own scam report saying this. Now here is what set me off. M6Gaming, instead of doing his number one priority (banning scammers) decided that deleting my message was vastly more important. Hence, I told my good old friend Zap that M6Gaming was being a lunatic. In my solid opinion he was and by Zap's reaction I believe he agrees with me. After saying this I then get this lovely message from good old M6Gaming https://gyazo.com/8ae787536313e8f682e447b57820554a

Here's the rest of the conversation:

So now I would like to talk about what I hope to see come of this thread. First off, I only want to see reasonable comments from the community listed. Not just pure hate without reason. Secondly, I would like to put the emphasis on perhaps getting new scam resolvers in different timezones to ensure that all reports are being checked on within reasonable times. Or, just have our current scam resolvers maybe step their game up.

What I dont get is that why do you moderate scam reports, makes them much longer to resolve and harder to understand

I hate the whole "Your comment is awaiting moderation approval" thing. It slows down the process of resolving scam reports.
Actually, thinking about that, can we remove that type of moderation on this thread? If someone posts a toxic message feel free to completely delete it. I want to see unedited opinions from users. If you do decide to keep this moderated may we have this being moderated by moderators instead of scam resolvers.

Scam reports have always been moderated while I've been a staff member here at MC-Market. I was never given a clear reason as to why it's been that way, but we haven't seen a reason to change it at this point.
I really feel it slows down the process for users to submit new evidence since it is based on the scam resolvers being on at that time.

I think if we had a better system to reduce the ability to scam this process would be done a lot quicker without all the problems on both ends.

Scam Resolvers can only moderate the Scam Reports forum. Only Moderators and Administrators can moderate other forums.[DOUBLEPOST=1454901845][/DOUBLEPOST]

I agree. But the opinions and flame people try to start in those threads is real and unnecessary. How would you suggest we stop that from happening?

It would cause less confusion.

Lets say there is a scam report on Bob reported by Bill

M6: Bob please respond within 24 hours
Bob: Blah blah blah(Moderated)
*24 hours passes*
Bill: He hasnt responded(But Bob has responded)

There are other examples, this is just a common one

It also doesnt let people see others ideas when a scam report staff isnt on

I posted a thread that is practically an inweb middle man which would practically reduce all In-web scamming
Out of web this site cannot control other than a normal process

I forgot to quote you rocket!
It was about how would you suggest we stop that from happening my idea having a better system for it all together or just hiring more around the clock volunteers or staff.

I don't know, I think what makes the scam reports so long is that
a) scam resolvers don't want to ban the wrong person and are afraid of doing the wrong thing and failing their job. They cannot just judge a scam report without consequences like we can.
or
b) There are sadly just too many scam reports.

Well, it could simply be handled the same way things are already being handled. If a user submits a false message intended to start a flame or riot they get punished. Bringing back my warning into this saying that scam resolvers take 30 years to sold one report is an exaggeration but true in a way. (Noting that the warning was for that post)

We want to prevent flame/rioting from happening and the moderation thing does that right now. If we turn that off, it doesn't prevent the behavior.

The warning was unnecessary and I've talked with M6Gaming about this. However, the scam report was probably not the best place to share that concern.

I've read through most the scam reports that are recent and I must say there are not that many. In some of these cases (including mine) there was an overwhelming amount of evidence and yet it took practically a whole day to a decision that was made by all us normal uses hours earlier.

Mazda handles situations maturely even when dealing with immaturity. He's a thorough and professional scam resolver. I've seen him handle scam reports and they are very well accounted for.

I agree rocket, I should have just made a thread about it. The thing is though. I've been dealing with this personally since this scammer was pretending to be me and harming others though my name. I've had so many angry users at me that I've had to calm down and deal with. Then we have multiple users wondering when this scammer will be dealt with and we just wait hours on end. The longer it takes the more users get scammed.

Why would you want to prevent flame wars? You can easily tell who has the longer end of a stick through a heated discussion.

Also, why not make a "Scamming Alert or what not" section on the Marketplace Section?
I've seen plenty of "DO NOT DEAL WITH XXXX" in the General Discussions section.
Simple alternative to buyers. You can easily warn the community.

IN ALL OTHER NEWS, add a reputation system where you can +1, 0, or -1 a person.

ORRRR You can make it so that PEOPLE CANT HIDE THEIR PROFILES nor DELETE COMMENTS ON THEIR PROFILE. This is not a "We respect user privacy" situation. You should be more concerned about "We don't want our users getting scammed". There's a report button for a reason for those idiot trolls anyways so it's no problem regardless for those trashy profile comments.

Buyer would then check seller's profile for comments and/or scam concerned.

3 simple solutions. Easily solved.

People just listed a couple reasons why to change it. I think a better question is... can you think of a reason why not to change it?

But even if they did this doesn't really advance much of the process allowing more of an open discussion might lengthen the project because of how much spam content their might be.

To be honest it can go either way but it is an interesting point.

However full on blocking/moderation doesn't seem to be working out efficently.
