Well, a lot of great domains are being added here on the market that are worth a pretty penny. That I like. But, it's rather dumb that the OP won't provide proof other than the image of the domain in their account, which can easily be photoshopped.

So, here's my suggestion in full:

Make all sales REQUIRED to redirect the subdomain proof.mydomain.com to their thread. This will more than cut scams in half.

Sales are done between the buyer and the seller, as such, the buyer and seller should be the ones worrying about proving who owns what; and in what manner it's proven, if at all.
If someone doesn't want to do this, that should be their choice.
And if someone doesn't want to buy a domain from someone who doesn't do this, that should be their choice.

Not that I don't think this is a great way to prove that you own a domain, but I would rather it be encouraged than required.
I very much dislike the [inside our little box of no-freedom/choice] mindset.

simple solution: Ask them what email it is registered to. got to Whois and check. done.
That method does not work if they have WhoIsGuard enabled.

fair enough. Then ask them to change something about the domain. have them temporarily host something there, or if they already are, have them change something about it.

They might not have hosting. That's why I want them not to change their main domain name, but just a subdomain, just in case the real domain is redirecting somewhere else.

hm, that's a valid point. well, this might work better than I thought about.
However, instead of seeking to make it a rule, maybe we should aim for it being proof in the way that people ask for in-progress pics for builds. Anything less is not deemed socially acceptable.

True that.[DOUBLEPOST=1461246065][/DOUBLEPOST]
Whoisguard still forwards to your main email if configured correctly.
Yeah, but leave it up to this lot to configure it correctly. :p

Ivain is right. Most members will blatantly call you a scammer until you post enough sufficient proof.
