I would suggest making a new Prefix for the Services section with [Service] as the prefix.

Reason:
Allowing only members with a certain amount of positive reactions post under this prefix would promote and benefit the community lowering the chances of a scammer posting with the prefix Service.

Explanation:
Members can offer services for reasonable prices, and build up their positive reactions, and post under the Service Section. For members with high positive reactions, being banned would be a larger deal then a new member offering large services for high prices.

Extra:
Having accounts / members with the most ratings stay up higher on the services forums, would decrease the amounts of scams and promote the provider of that service making it beneficial to both the community and mc-market.

1.) Reaction Farming
2.) Unequal advertisement
3.) Why services tag in the services section, it doesn't make sense.

1. Make it for Members with Supreme and high reactions
2. Members would deserve that advertisement since they would be known to be a an authentic service
3. To mark actual Services. Rather then just offering services, having a Service tag under a thread would make it easier to tell that that member is offering a service, and is known for not scamming.

1: Reactions have nothing to do with their sales.
2: No they wouldn't because it doesn't stop people from scamming.
3: Waste of time and money making it.

1. still encourages supreme members with lower reactions to start farming, and while the numbers would be less anything that encourages rate farming should not be considered.
2. who decides what service is authentic? And why does a service need to be marked "authentic" anyway? can you not do your own research?
3. to mark services rather than just the offering of services. what?

Scammers will always be out there. Making a "service" prefix will mean that the MCM community has recognized that their service is authentic and they will not scam.

so to ask again, who will make that decision? will there be a vote?
and again, where's the threshold? how many deals does one need to do before being "authentic"?
And what would stop someone from making a giant scam for something big after becoming "Authentic"? Why take that risk?
It feels to me like it would only lower people's guards.

Rather then being wary and worrying that someone will scam you every other trade, Authentic or Service tags will promote a safer enviroment. I've been scammed for totals that reach thousands of dollars even before I came to MCM. And for what? A block game with the amount of pixels nintendo DS's have? A game for ages 8 and up? Having a well trusted member of the community to be able to promote their service and lower the risks of being scammed is a rather reasonable suggestion if you ask me.

People spend incredible sums of money in a pixel game for ages 8 and up, that might as well be called internet legos. You should at least feel somewhat safe making transactions on the #1 Sales and Trade forums.

Yet you still haven't answered my question on who will decide who's authentic.
Nor will the "authentication" thingy prevent people being scammed. It'll just mean scammers will need to pretend to be legit for longer before they can scam.

Also, thousands? phew... I doubt my total goes above 500. Also, I haven't been scammed since november 2015, when I adopted a set of rules that I follow closely.

Well that is certainly great for you. Who will decide who is authentic? Obviously the community will.

So "the community" will decide that someone is authentic. At what point does one become authentic? when 20 people that have been here for 3 months or more have vouched for them? I think staff will end up making the final decision, since they need to implement it. which transfers the responsibility to the website.

Also, I'm still not sure how this will be better than just the vouches themselves. if someone has 20 vouches from reliable people (intangible factor, btw), those 20 vouches will be way more valuable than an additional "authentic" tag/badge whatever you're planning.

How will the community know that this person isn't going to exit scam. There's been people the community trusted but these people have broken that trust and are now banned. What is telling us that this won't happen again?
