It has become apparent to me within the week I've came back to MCM that there is a lot of what I like to call shit posting. Shit posting is people posting stuff saying "10/10" with nothing else to add. I think there should be a word requirement for each post. If the word requirement was lets say 4 words for example, people would actually have to put some thought into their replies. Instead of saying "10/10" they can say "10/10 I love this idea". Overall this would make the replies on threads worth reading instead of seeing just a bunch of 2 word replies..

- Is it worth implementing? - Yes. Would stop worthless postings on threads.

- What are the pros and cons? - I dont see any cons here, makes people actually use their brain and type out something worth reading.

Many other forum websites use this and it is effective. I hope you consider my suggestion!

P.S If this is already implemented it needs to be heavily enforced. I see 2 word replies almost every day.

Then you're blind.
What's the con? It is a policy and it should be enforced. Policy 1.8 I believe. Its not enforced and it makes for meaningless replies. If the only reply you can come up with is 2 words than its not worth reading.. Just suggesting this policy be enforced or have a system to stop it overall

I understand where you are coming from but, I do not think this needs to be added quite yet. Yes I know tons of people are shitposters but, there are sometimes when you need that 2-3 word answer. If they were to always explain it in a bunch of detail people would get confused. Why do you think most Thread designs are to the point and not super descriptive.

Finally someone who can use reason and logic. I see where your coming from yes, but 4 words doesn't require someone to be descriptive it's a simple sentence. Litearly doesn't take more than 30 seconds to come up with 4 words that make logical sense. But yes I do know the threads are designed for simplicity but it IS a policy so shouldn't it be enforced in some way?[DOUBLEPOST=1462550730][/DOUBLEPOST]
Freedom of speech!!!
This is in no way removing your freedom of speech. It is requiring you post something worth while instead of 2 words.

Well I wrote 1/10 and it summed up ur thread pretty good. I mean quality before quantity. If i can say what I want to say in 3 number there for why not do it.

Thats like saying to a youtuber "You lost a subscriber." It leaves people thinking "Why though? Can't you at least tell me what I can do to improve."

Just saying 1/10 on its own does litearly nothing for the OP. The OP (myself in this case) has no idea why you think its a 1/10 because you have NO context. Tjats the whole idea here..

only way to do it[DOUBLEPOST=1462551215][/DOUBLEPOST]
You made my day

Yeah I've gotten many warning from Jack for posting meaningless content. But some mods just don't know what they are doing. Shitposter get the messages removed so when you see it report it., but when people ask "hey rate out of ten!" What do you want for us to do say " listen here you fat cunt we can't do that b/c shitposting according to @xm2!"
Thanks

Do you really think this will work? All I see if this is implemented is people spamming words to meet the limit.
Which will then ofc be reported for spam. Which you can already do with existing 2-word comments. so nothing changes, really.

there's your con right there.

(joke has been made)
Anyway, none of us are denying the problem, exactly. What we're denying is this solution, which will not work.
Instead of 1 meaningless word to report, it'll contain 10 meaningless words or whatever the limit will be. Which will then still need to be reported for spam, cause that's what they'll be.
