What's good in a faction server?

Im re-booting my faction-based gamemode. I haven't actually played factions in around a year so I ask this.

What plugins are essential? (or just really cool, I already use FactionsUUID)

What major glitches are worth blocking?

Pot/soup PvP or gapple PvP?

In my opinion gapple pvp is the way to go for a normal factions server (mcmmo, vanilla etc.) but if its hcf then i would suggest go potpvp. I do not know much about plugins etc. but you should always have the essentials which is all those factions ones.

If you are going to make a factions server I recommend that you get the premium factions plugin. It is so worth it is have it on my server and it works great. I also recommend that you get feather board so people can see like there money and other important stats.

You need something that makes it unique from the hundreds of other faction servers out there.
Try magic that looks cool and actually works, airships, things like that. Something that hasn't been done before.

One cool thing about factions is when they're custom enchants, or if there are classes (like Shaman, Paladin, etc.).

Also, Gapple PvP is better IMO but that's just me. Good luck with your server!

I think that depends on what you're planning to do with the server. If you just are trying to have a small server to play on and maybe make a couple bucks here and there, then just use a public one. However, if you're trying to make a sort of up-and-coming server with a decent playerbase, then I'd go custom. I think the more unique you can get while still maintaining the same factions feel is probably in your best interest!!

This is a good plugin if scamming is going to be against the rules. It allows easy and safe transactions.

I would recommend having a death ban system, where its not used in every server. Currently the most popular sever with the Deathbed system is The Archon. This is a great way to start, but mainly I would recommend getting in contact with a developer and bounce feedback of each other (make something unique) You need to make something that is unique to you're server and you won't see in big servers. This way players have a reason to play in your faction server and not play on a better developed more popular server. I would go with the classic Gapple PvP.
