I am Jami Mays, and yep I call Toronto home. I have lived here most of my life, and honestly, the city never really gets boring. There’s always a new coffee shop popping up or some random street festival you just stumble into. I work as an academic writer, which basically means I spend a lot of time digging through research, pulling apart complex ideas, and trying to make them sound less terrifying for students. It’s nerdy work, but I kinda love it.
What I like most about writing is that it doesn’t just help other people, it keeps me curious too. One day I’m reading about psychology, the next I’m knee-deep in history papers. It’s like an endless excuse to learn. But I’m not just glued to my laptop 24/7. If I’m not working, you’ll probably catch me wandering around Toronto, usually with a coffee in hand, checking out bookstores, or just people-watching by the waterfront. It’s the little things that keep me sane.
