I think intel has processors that perform about the same at that price point (Look up benchmarks), but if you are using with the motherboard linked above you have to go with AMD Ryzen or a newer Athlon. And in your price range I think the 2700X would work- Spoch

The board you posted is AMD socket i7 3rd gen uses LGA 1155 socket so no, it will not work. You have to find something with LGA 1155 Depending on what 3rd gen processor you have yours may still work fine for current games, but I still think if you have the money you should consider just...- Spoch
