Hello guys I have a server and it is a mix between drugs, factions, hcf, pvp, economy, and roleplay. I have had many players tell me that they don't want to play on my server if it is not 1.8.

What do yo guys prefer and why?

Would you still play a server if it wasn't the version you liked?

Help me out guys!!

1.8 , 1.9 pvp mechanics suck, & most of the people that play MC now are PvPers. It would only make sense to make your server 1.8, more people would play on it. (If you'd really like to play in 1.9-1.10, simply install ViaVersion on your servers.)

1.8 with viaversion should work perfectly fine.

Although i'm not sure about the ones aside from pvp like roleplay. People may want newer mechanics/blocks if it's not revolved around pvp. If it's more of a pvp than a roleplay server, I'd go to 1.8.

I personally like servers that use versions 1.8-1.10 with ViaVersion. Keep in mind, you can not utilize any features 1.9+ offers because they will not be compatible with 1.8 users. It is basically just for people who usually play on 1.9 or 1.10 and are too lazy to relog and change versions.
