There really is no need to make there be one neutral agree rating count for suggestions. I think they should be added on to the users agree count. This would show that the user is a great help to make MCM better and that the community agrees with this users suggestions to make MCM better.

just a thought.

Or it shows that those users are manipulative enough to make a suggestion for something that obviously won't be accepted, or has been suggested multiple times, or isn't even a suggestion but will be spammed by agree ratings by other members of the community. Despite often not having any thought put into it whatsoever.
"Add minecraft account sales back!! 10/10 original suggestion!"
"Demote <soandso> bahahaha aboos!"
"Make an MCM app! Because yes."
"Make supreme 100% off this weekend"
"MCM booth at minecon!"
"More themes! More badges! More freedom!"

The suggestion forums have been used by many members to farm agree ratings this way.
No.

I disagree,
1. If ratings aren't rep, than why does it matter?
2. Just report them, and/or maybe have a dedicated staff member go through them and give like 5 warning points if someone posts a bad suggestion for ratings.

Why does farming ratings matter?
Oh, you are so right. We should just remove the rule saying don't abuse the rating system.
Free ratings for everyone!

I think you missed the problem though.
Besides the having to worry about what criteria we're using for determining what suggestion thread is made with the intention of farming ratings, and which is just made by stupid people..
The people who post suggestions like this post suggestions that will be spammed by support from other members.
Often times, if a staff member goes to remove the thread, we'll be called out for abuse. Yet again. Silencing the community.
Better to just cut the problem off at it's source and remove the temptation to create these manipulative/community-sucking-up threads, and make the agree ratings neutral.

I disagree as its just a way for people to farm ratings by making suggestions that have already been asked and rejected.

As stated above; it was used to farm ratings. I can already think of one person who made like 10+ suggestion threads to boost their low post:rating ratio.

Wouldn't it just be better to get a staff specially for this?
It would uncluttered a LOT of suggestions too, and he would delete I nessesary suggestions,

Anyhow, my opinion, is that just add them bad and punish people who abuse it, if we do punish people who abuse it, less people will try to do it.

If we're going to keep the reaction system, simply agreeing to a suggestion would be how users react. Making it neutral brings us back to what caused the uproar about the reaction update to begin with. If people are rate farming through the system why not just punish them and leave the system be? We don't close down the General Discussion section because people rate farm there. If we keep making neutral and positive types of the same reaction it can be seen as confusing to new members and to some older members who aren't active in the suggestions section.[DOUBLEPOST=1460651267][/DOUBLEPOST]What can also be done to prevent rate farming in this section is limit the amount of suggestions a user can create within a retain period of time. Less suggestions, less rating right?
