This is what I'm talking about:
Do not "backseat-moderate" or "mini-mod"
If you find someone breaking the rules, report them. By posting things such as, but not limited to: "wrong section", "not allowed", "don't bump more than once per 24 hours", you are creating more work for staff members. These posts will be removed and you may be warned.
When this wasn't a thing, I used to tell new users if they're breaking a rule so they can correct it and I also report the post. Many times the user (who is usually new) understands that it's against the rules and they correct their mistake. How is this making more work for the staff? If anything, it's helping the staff. If you only make a report it takes so long that by the time it is read, the user already proceeded with an action that is not allowed rather than being shown not to. Because if I tell them, they can't say "they didn't know."
My solution is to either allow certain Well-Known/Respected members to let the user who is breaking the rule know that they are because there aren't mods on 24/7 and reports don't get answered immediately. Either that or an "Official Mini-Mod" or "Helper" position.
