Allow read receipts to be turned off in PMs

Let's face it.

Someone messages you about something. You read it, but don't have the time to respond. Then said person starts spamming you because you read it. It's super annoying.

I think there should be the option to turn off read receipts, so people don't know if you have read their messages..

It would be nice if supreme users could turn this off (another wanted, useful feature).

If so I definitely agree. Monty & I conduct all of our business through PMs and sometimes we're in bed and relaxing and just want to check PMs without responding to them at that time and place but because of this feature our clients can see when we last read and then feel like we are ignoring them or not responding to them.

not had a problem with this yet, and I hope I never will, but since we have an option to hide online status, a thing like this would be welcome as well

No, I hate this idea. I love knowing when someone read my PM and if they're being a dick and spamming you just block them. I think of it as the feature in Skype that always tells you when someone is typing. It's a useful feature and I like it. Having the ability to turn it off would defeat the whole purpose of it. -1

I get so many pms from new users these days asking me the most random questions. If I read them and ignore them they see I've read their message and send about 12 more pms to be sure I heard them. Please add this!

Staff can still see your legit last read date. This is to know when people are avoiding pm's about scam reports or warning points.
