Lots of freelancers are under 18 / looking for a job, so any money is good money. Alternatively, it's the downside to doing exactly what you want to do :p
At that little of money I would rather get a job at subway, or such.
What's minimum wage in the US? In canada it's $10.50 but you usually get $12.50 and they are trying to push it up to $15
The minimum wage per hour in my state is the same as the federal minimum wage (7.25 an hour).

Hello guys!

I'm a small animator who started animating only 8 months ago, and I make Minecraft Animations for my YouTube Channel (ShadyCast).

I wanted to start commissions and I just wanted to ask you guys what you would pay for these animations made by me:

Tell me what you think of the animation, (what you liked about it or what needs improving), and how much you would pay for a one minute animation of this type of quality.
Both of these animations took around 40 - 50 hours of work.
If you could also give me advice about commissioning and tips would be helpful too :)

Thanks, looking forward to your replies :)

Good work, it's just gonna be hard to find people to sell to

You can also go the route of putting them on Youtube and using ads.

In my opinion the prices are to high I wanted to order a 1 minute short promotional animation and he was wanting nearly $400.00 USD.

The animations are great and keep it up but the prices :(
Sorry that you feel the pricing was out >.<

Thanks for the advice ^.^

To be fair Id rather do short animations like an intro or 30 seconds. 1 Minute would take around 26 hours and thats without rendering time and editing time too as I normally do all the editing myself. Also Im quite a perfectionist :p if something doesnt look right Ill keep tweeking it until it is so I have the perfect product for the viewers. Thats why I have to charge so much :p If I charged a lower rate id have to rush it to get a decent hourly rate and the animation could turn out bad >.< But thanks for all the advice :)

I could see someone (Including me) Paying about $200 for a 1 Minuit-ish video. Good job :) Will probably contact you around the summer.

I'd happily help you out with a project around the summer :) But I think $200 might be a bit low as I've set up a small system now that predicts how much I should charge. $200 would be more around the 30 seconds mark. I've worked out that I normally work at around 0.444 hours per second of animation. If you times that by 60 seconds it would come to 26 hours and I would like to work at £10 an hour so that would be around £260 which would be around $400. But it all depends on the project too :p Sorry if that seems too much for you >.<

Hmmm, alright :p My server isn't out yet. So it really all depends on how many donations I get. I believe that my server should do quite well, as it's a very unique idea. So $400 should be okay :p (as long as everything goes to plan xD)
Also, isn't minimum wage like £8 in the UK?

A bit lower, it's like £6.50 :p I'm looking forward to the project and I'm excited to see your server :D
