Are VPS a good idea for a starting server?

I only plan on holding 30-40 players max in the first 2-3 months and I was wondering what all I need to do to get a VPS to host my MC server and how I could use multicraft to manage it.

Shared is better if you're starting off.

Can I add you on skype and I'll pop the server up in a few so u can tell me what kind of host package I'll need?

Depends on what you're planning to have.
More plugins > More Ram.

50-60 plugins. No more than 50 players.
What would be my best bet as hosting wise

I got an 8 gb classic from ovh for a month....

It was really good... but if I had more than 30 players it really lagged....

now I got a 64 gb dedicated... nothing can beat that

First month having it...

This month, or atleast in the 21 days so far...
I made enough to pay for it for another 2 months..

So far its been paying for itself.

OVH's udp ports are questionable.

Yeah, I had an 8gb OVH and their performance isn't the best when holding more than 10 players... (for us)
