Let banned members access a special category that only they (and staff) can post in to appeal their ban. Often people are banned for very petty, insignificant reasons, or sometimes just plain wrong. In the name of transparency it should be open for all to see.

Although this idea has potential, I feel that it would be abused, especially if the messages are public. I mean think about all the trolls that get banned.
Or if someone is banned for advertising, they would likely abuse the appeal system as a method to advertise.

It would probably be handled like scam reports, where the repeal would first have to be approved to be shown publicly though.

There would have to be limits such as only being able to appeal once a month or something.

im preparing for if I get false banned by the system....have 4 perm warnings.. ;-;

I have 6 warnings... and they're all for the most idiotic reasons. Like posting a picture. LOW QUALITY BRO. I'm convinced they just don't like me.

If you're banned, it's most likely for good reason.

In addition, with the way that XenForo works, this isn't possible. When you're banned, you're banned and that's that. Even if we wanted to allow banned members to see a specific forum, it's just not possible.

Of course, we could probably do some custom development to make it possible, but I personally don't think it's warranted here.

I can't speak for the other admins or staff, but I use the ban hammer as a last resort. I will warn you and do what I can to stop misbehavior before it gets to the point of a ban. Obviously, some things are just ban worthy, such as scamming. But other than that, I use warnings or sometimes even just friendly alerts first before escalating. I think it would be nice if all the staff members followed that example, but we'll see.

It totally is possible. I can tell you how if you're interested.

That's not really my concern.

So what's your concern? You don't want to exercise some transparency and let people publically appeal a decision? Hate to break it too you, but you folks are far from perfect. Mistakes do, and are bound to happen.

I can reference several people who have been wrongfully banned. Especially my best friend who was banned simply because a past admin (Chris) disliked him. He did absolutely nothing wrong, and yet a year and half later he is still banned. When trying to appeal it, Mick just makes up total and complete lies about why he is banned. Mick wasn't even around back then. However, if you ask people who were , they would most likely agree he did nothing to be banned. For Christ sakes his ban message is "( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)".
