Just because an account was previously used as a scam account does not mean it still is. Someone can easily secure a previously scam account. This is the dumbest rule I've witnessed and needs to be removed.

Dumb rule. If some retard go's first and falls for a scam then the account wouldn't be able to be sold again? what the fuck. it could easily be secured in the future.

  • Hire staff that don't limit the semi-OG criteria to their own vocabulary.
this ain’t it

the semi section is trash because of the people using incredibly obscure words they scraped and claimed on a random account.

That’s an after affect of what’s been happening with the name snipers which staff have no control over. It’s not right but it explains why

I somewhat agree. The only problem is that sometimes, decent names get mixed in with the trash ones and it depends on each individual staff's vocabulary. I made a support request for a name that got removed and a chat mod said that it's weird that it got removed and then aliensushi said it wasn't a good enough word so imo staff discretion is not the most reliable system

I think we need more solid criteria for what counts as a semi to reduce disputes

i’m assuming by name snipers you mean services like chearful.ninja? if so, they are in no way to blame for the semi section going to shit. the names in question here have never been claimed and are just trash. if you’re referring to the people actually doing this when you say name snipers, they aren’t even sniping they’re just claiming names which have been free for ages. there’s no way to stop them except by removing names which are worthless except as a full access account.

there’s not really a way to do solid criteria for semi-ogs. ogs are easy but with the addition of prefixes and suffixes involved with semis, the only way to judge them is based on someone’s discretion and staff are the only people who have that power, and more specifically aliensushi now that he’s the account moderator(which is questionable)

Chearful at one point changed their sniper so that if you want to snipe a name you pretty much pay the full value of it instead of a credit and they don’t provide complimentary UFA’s anymore

Instead of sniping names that are low tier with credits they instead are taking already free names that could be semi in the slightest bit and selling them for profit since you won’t profit if you snipe a name

this still doesn’t make any sense but it’s not really the point of this suggestion

I’m explaining why people are selling shitty accounts in the semi section since you asked. Chearful fucked up the name sniper to where you can’t make profit anymore and sniping a low tier name that could bring you profit will run you the full price. You asked and I explained

It's true. I recently saw a $20 appraised name on that site being sold for $300, but some-times they can sell you names for cheap. It really depends..

I’ve got a better idea: Disallow the sale of all MC accounts, and accounts whose sale violates the TOS of other services, so that we’re not a hypocritical platform insisting on the importance of respecting the rights of our creators while also facilitating the violation of the rights of others.

It's not allowed to sell twitch accounts according to twitch's TOS so if you want to implement this you're not only putting your users at a loss but also yourself. I'm astonished why you would mention something like this in the first place it's still blowing my mind after reading it multiple times

New Idea:
Disallow selling goods and services on MC-Market. This will completely eliminate any violations in ToS's caused by users selling stuff. There will be no more preferential treatment towards any specific market, thus eliminating the disparities between markets on this site. I think with this idea, the site will be fair, discourage underage labor, discourage illegal activity, discourage ToS violations, and more.

There has to be a good way to compile a huge list of scam accounts like people who have been scammed input accounts they were scammed out of but people can just lie. There has to be a public list for people to see scam accounts, people will just buy accounts off-site and then have no clue they cant sell it on mcmarket missing out on there 15$ profit on the semi.

Someone would have to look through all of the previous valid scam reports related to minecraft accounts and make a list of them, which would take a lot of time, and that's probably why no one can be bothered doing it.

This rule enforcement was very quickly reverted after it began, so this is no longer an issue.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion
