Best place to learn java?

Hello, I have recently been getting interested into learning java.. I have looked online but most of the online tutorial websites only teach html, css, python, and javascript.. I was hoping someone could share with me a website like code avengers or code code academy that would teach me how to code java.. or at least to get me framiliar with it.. thanks.

I personally learned from a year of taking Java programming at my school, but if that is not an option, I suggest using videos as a resource.

There are a bunch of Youtube videos which are extremely informational that can be of assistance when learning Java.

If you have the money, I'd also suggest finding a reliable developer to teach it to you over Skype or Teamviewer.

By Java for dummies, then it doesn't limit you to to minecraft specifically... I know some people who have only been using java for dummies for a little while and can code some really awesome plugins...

This website is unreal. I've used it to successfully learn HTML and CSS. I'm currently using it to learn Java.

It costs $25 per month but you can get a 14 day trial if you setup a pre-approved payment plan (you just cancel it on the 13th day if you don't wanna pay). Your Paypal account will need a credit card to do this. But don't worry, there is a work around. When setting up your pre-approved payment plan, choose Bitcoin as your method.

This website is 100% awesome. You watch videos, complete quizzes, complete coding tasks and you even get access to a community of teachers and learners. You get awards and points etc. This sort of thing would be awesome to show someone and highlights that you have been learning and you know what you're talking about.

You should consider Java for Dummies or Head First Java, which are both very great books for beginners.

Idk what the problem with the new boston is. A while back I watched all of his videos and learned a lot. I also watched a few more videos explaining things. After about 4 months of playing around with it I was coding bukkit plugins like mad. But that was Minecraft 1.2.5 things were different then.
Tbh I hate reading and if you do too you will never learn java through a book. A lot of people do apparently and that's fine but with a book I couldn't even finish one fourth of it and I learned absolutely nothing. It is very good In a case you can always look at it, but that's the same with YouTube videos.I just suggest learning java completely and not being one of those people to go to those "how to code bukkit plugins" on youtube

The terrible practices, he doesn't really go over much vocabulary, and by the time you finish his video's you still have no idea what Object Oriented Programming is.

Huh I was 14 when I watched his videos and I didn't have a problem if I followed along and did it with him.
His practices are not very good can agree but if you play around with what you made after every video you understand what things do a lot better.
I was able to make my first plugins about a week after watching his videos ;p

Maybe, but did you understand what you were doing, or did you just blindly copy his code? After that week did you understand polymorphism, encapsulation, and other simple OOP principles? Did you understand why you couldn't compare a String with the == operator? There is a lot more to programming languages then just memorizing the syntax.

There is an awesome text editor program called "Coda" that's only available for Mac. You should get it, it looks amazing.
