Bidding on Threads

There should be something like a button to bid if a user sets up bidding for that thread. They can enter an amount and it posts it in the thread. Also updates it automatically in the OP thread and it only bids if you bid higher then current. Also if you take your bid back option it removes rating from you

Yeh that sounds like a good idea for an auction style deal. Also it would have to take into account the minimum bid increments, is this possible with Xenforo?

As far as I can tell, there doesn't seem to be any plugins for this.
It looks like there's one old one but it got junked over a year ago.

Otherwise, a good idea, but I don't see it getting implemented.

Though I like the idea, there's nothing that would do this, and honestly - I plan to keep MC-Market as a forum and saying $x isn't difficult. My 2c.

It stays a forum just stops people from backing out of bids and such. It is something you can add to your thread to organize bidding. If your not willing to get this coded I will do it myself and send it to you. I really like this idea and would LOVE to see it implented

I'm not sure how it'd organise bidding a lot, but it'd be a pretty big addon.

Sometimes people are bidding the same amount as other people and it wouldnt allow a player to do so.

Also it is something that alot of people would like. I understand your point but I honestly think if people back out bids they should lose rating.

I don't have much XenForo addon experience, but if you need help, feel free to hmu.

Otherwise, my other thread about "Auction Lengths" had some ideas in it about adding a few rules on how auctions and bidding should work.
If those rules were implemented (ex. not allowed to back out of bids/auctions or else receive an infraction), I believe it would also improve the community's market.

Get started already, if mc-market doesn't want it. Sell the plugin or put it out for free on the internets
