1k on cables would be a bit overkill? But i agree with most of this

C12 to C13 power cables are $4-5 each, x45 = $200
2x 1000-ft spool ethernet cable (2 different colors) + ethernet jacks = $400
Fiber optics + trunking cables = $200
Various cable management accessories = $100

pretty much $1k

(not to mention the hours of work required to make ~100 ethernet cables)

Because you would want to assign a different public IP to each VM so you don’t have to have wonky ports for each of the services on the VMs
Cheers, this is the exact reason I made this thread. To find information out that would have not crossed my mind until I had started my build.

If you didn't know that you'll need multiple IPs when hosting VPSes, you may wanna either invest that $10K where you're more competent, or wait until you know more about server hosting. That kind of info isn't something that would cross your mind mid-build.
