CPU Questions.

So I have 2 question's for anyone that is capable of answering them.

Firstly, My CPU is a AMD A4-5000 Quad core.

My first question is this, The CPU is supposed to be 1.5Ghz, Does that mean that each core has 1.5Ghz of processing power or is it shared between them?

As for my 2nd question, Is there a way to force a program to utilize all 4 cores at once thus sharing the work load?

Then bro if you have a 1.5Ghz Quadcore it means that each core uses 1/4 of 1.5Ghz i dont know if you understand me.

You can overclock your CPU ; Overclock means that if your cpu is going to 1.5ghz you can speed up to 1.8Ghz or less ♥.

What do you mean with the second question bro?

I know that Windows tells the CPU To use a certain amount of cores depending on the program, So I want to know if I can force Windows to put all 4 cores to anything and everything I'm running.

That is in another language, But if it means having one program use all 4 cores instead of just 1 then yes.

Nope.

That's determined by the program. If the developer utilized multithreading, then it will. Otherwise no, there is no way to force it.

If you want to limit a process to a certain CPU, you can set it in Task Manager by right-clicking the process and going to 'Set Affinity', however this will not force a singlethreaded program to use more than one:

My hopefully last and final question for either of you, If I did decide to overclock being that my laptop is like new 2014 new, Would I run the risk of burning it up. And what program would I need.

I'm sorry but your completely wrong.

If you have a quad core CPU at 1.5Ghz that means that you have four cores each running at 1.5Ghz.

The stuff about each core using 1/4 isn't accurate at all.

If you overclocked to 1.8Ghz, all four cores will be running at 1.8Ghz

Jack is correct about the multithreading and that its based on the program to implement it.

I am pretty sure most laptop BIOS are locked because they are designed with specific thermals in mind. If you oc them without adding any cooling it is likely it will overheat and damage components. I am however not a computer expert so I am not 100% sure.
