Data File vs Mysql database

Alot of plugins just store data in a random file, others use a sql database.

What is the advantage of either/or?

I am looking into this because i'm getting a plugin made that stores certain player stats, what do you recommend.

I was talking to a support on a hosting company (like a half year ago).

They said that Sqlite is meant for testing and is not as good as MySQL (in some way)

Now, i do not know if this is true. But they said so anyway.

mysql all the way. The main reason for that is conccurrent modifications.

The mysql server is based uses the SQL Language. It uses queries to search for fields, using a specific key to look through it. a flat file needs to be read top to bottom, while a mysql database doesn't.

Depends, a MySQL database is not necessary at all if you won't have much information needing to be stored.

So if you get a lot of players, then I'd use MySQL

It will be tracking the #of blocks broken per player... so you be the judge
