Used it for a while at a broadcasting company here, it's essentially your normal video editing environment just that it's made to run on absolutely huge machines. I asked them why they had opted for avid instead of premiere or something, "avid was a one off and not a subscription service" The UI is absolutely horrible, but it's fairly quick, as long as you run it on Xeon machines like it is meant to be run on, so don't get it for yourself it's kinda outdated too imo, really just made for quickly cutting TV shows and colour grading them

Oh, cool that you have experiance with it!
Actully, Avid Media composers UI has changed a lot, it now looks a lot like adobe premier pro, i actully prefer the way avid edits with all its ripple and non destructive tools on the timeline, i also love media management and the stability in avid compared to adobe prem pro. Have you seen the new avid mc ui? its called Avid Media Composer 2019.7 i'd like to know your opinion on that.

I actully think colour grading is avid's weakness, it edits very well (I prefer its editing tools to premier) however it lacks in colour grading tools and effects such as blend modes (Which for me is a deal breaker). Not only this, but its f-ing user unfreindly!

i mean, there must be a reason why avid media composer is used in 80% of hollywood movies, and practically all TV programmes and series
