Downgrading from 1.8.3 to 1.7.10 - 1.8 Protocol Hack

Hello there,

Is it possible to downgrade from 1.8.3 to 1.7.10 - 1.8 without having to reset the server world by using Carbon?

Or, would I have to reset the world?

Any information is very much appreciated.

It is very possible to switch. However, like said above, make backups. If you are running a server that deals with item based economy, make sure no players are on while switching. This could result in a loss of items and money. It has happened to me. Also note, that signs will be messed up.

Which signs will be messed up? Shop-type signs?

I have upgraded and downgraded servers without world corruption. Signs will look like "text" with the quotes.
