Conversation search needed like 140MB to search my messages and failed. Seems like a lot, it's probably attempting to search all conversations (possibly ones I'm not even apart of) at once rather than segmenting the search.

Considering the scale of MC-Market, you might want to increase the default memory usage for php (memory_limit in php.ini), as I imagine whatever server you're renting has at least a few GB of RAM.

Mick d3l3t3d this has been an issue for so long, why hasn't it been fixed?
As I mentioned in OP, it's a super quick fix (increase memory limit in php config, then reload webserver).
If you're not comfortable doing that, PM me an IP and a key and I'll do it for you for free.
Although it should be noted that increasing the memory limit (to 512MB lets say) will fix the issue, for now, but the search function will still take a few seconds to load. For a permanent solution, you will want that XF addon redone (NixFifty)

I'm not sure why Andy's addon is still used. Xon made a much better and far more efficient version: https://xenforo.com/community/resources/conversation-improvements-by-xon.4518/

To clarify, ElasticSearch would be needed since it handles searching way more efficiently and reduces webserver + database load.[DOUBLEPOST=1520214172][/DOUBLEPOST]

That's good to know, I've written that down into my notes and I'll look into Xon's addon when I get the chance, that could be a good alternative. Thanks Bosny.
