Hello, I have never seen this rule enforced at all ' 1.8.4 Do not vouch on a product/service thread unless you have purchased that product/service. User vouches should be done via the reputation system.'

I see a lot of people vouching for a product or service in the thread even if they didn't buy the service/product which is kinda misleading for future/potential buyers.

I would love if this rule gets enforced more, or if not, then just remove it there is no point.

I’ve always thought vouching on someone’s thread is simply done to post farm and help bump the thread up in a somewhat unfair way.

Since the reputation system has the option to place deal url, why not remove thread vouches entirely and a service can be judged based on the reputation that links to that deal. For example -

I have sold ethereum in the past. Say I did 8 deals and those buyers all left positive feedback. The title for my thread would now appear as:
upload_2019-7-8_12-44-23.png

Where the [8 Reputation] increases or decreases based on how many + and - transactions I have.

Also some kind of color coding could be implemented, or a % of how many reputations are positive. Maybe a Green and Bold reputation count if the seller has 100% positive feedback, and red if there is a recent negative feedback? The reputation block could also link to the seller's reputation page for reputation related to the thread.

The point of this would be to entirely remove vouches from the comments, which sometimes make it difficult to see up to date information on the good/service and don't add much currently.

What's your thoughts on changing rule that rule (now 1.8.3) from being:

1.8.3 Do not vouch on a product/service thread unless you have purchased that product/service. User vouches should be done via the reputation system.

to:

1.8.3 Do not vouch on a product/service thread. User vouches should be done via the reputation system.

Right now enforcement is difficult because it's hard to tell when a deal has been done and when one hasn't. If we prevented people from vouching on threads at all and leaving that exclusively for the reputation system, enforcement would be much easier.
I'll move this to pending for us to implement this rule adjustment in our next announcement and get better at preventing people posting low quality vouch content.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

This has already been implemented, we just never got around to marking this suggestion as accepted.

Thank you very much for the suggestion! I'll move the thread now.
