Hey there all!
Today we are releasing a new announcement with some pretty cool changes!

Forum Reorganization
We’ve made further reorganizations to make our forum easier to navigate. The changes that we’ve made are that we have:
  • Renamed ‘Minecraft Products’ category to ‘Products’.
  • Renamed ‘Minecraft Services’ category to ‘Services’.
  • Merged ‘Miscellaneous Marketplace’ category with ‘Products’ category.
  • Made resource threads forum hidden.
  • Renamed ‘Server Discussion’ forum to ‘Server Showcase & Discussion’
  • Removed ‘Community Guidelines and Rules’ redirect forum. Access to the rules and terms of service is available in the footer of every page.
  • Removed ‘Discord’ subforum and merged existing threads into ‘Other’ subforum in ‘Social Media Accounts’
Staff Changes
Recently we’ve had a huge amount of staffing changes. A total of 3 new chat mods have been promoted who are Longze, BucketOfSloths, and DiabloTurtle. We are looking for a second developer and scam resolver to join our team so expect to see some new promotions again soon! Doge has been demoted from his position and Shattered has moved down to being a chat moderator.

TechBanana will also be taking over the responsibility of handling name change requests. If you’d like to request a name change, you may access the form in the dropdown of the support tab in the nav menu, or by clicking here.

Wiki Updates
Over the past few years the MC-Market Wiki hasn’t received much attention or love, but today we’re releasing drastic changes to the way that the wiki works! The changes that we’re making to the wiki are:
  • Added a wiki article about redistribution rights.
  • Added a wiki article about business accounts.
  • Added a wiki article about responsibility with investments.
  • Updated wiki article about MC-Market’s history.
  • Renamed ‘Guides’ to ‘Community Guides’.
  • Renamed ‘MC-Market’ to ‘Official’.
  • Adjusted permissions to prevent users from adjusting official documents.
  • Moved rules and terms of service to wiki.
Over the next few weeks we intend on working more on making the wiki better by redoing the index pages to make it easier to navigate, and also adding in new articles!
New Splash Messages
We have added over 100 new loading messages on our Cloudflare splash page! Written by Justis, the new messages contain memes, references, quotes, tips and facts. If you’d like to submit your own splash ideas, please use this form!

Other Changes
Along with these great changes above, we have also made a bunch of other minor changes since our previous announcement. If you’d like to stay updated of the changes as they happen, please follow our twitter account!
  • Added requirements to create suggestion threads on the site to prevent postfarming.
  • Added several new user titles for non-Premium users.
  • Added rule 1.19.1 to clarify that unsolicited conversations aren’t allowed.
  • Added reactions to Currency Conversion forum.
  • Adjusted rule 4.5 to “Do not require, suggest, or mention connecting to any social media/community within a giveaway.”
  • Adjusted rule 9.1 to “Do not give reputation which is not truthful, relevant and informative.”
  • Adjusted rule 9.3 to “Do not hint, suggest, request, or imply in any way, a specific reputation rating upon yourself or another member."
  • Adjusted rule 9.4 to “Do not use reputation as a currency, reward, condition, incentive, punishment or deterrent.”
  • Adjusted grammar on Up Thread page.
  • Adjusted descriptions of account upgrades to be more up to date.
  • Adjusted resource reviews so they require a description.
  • Adjusted resources so that when deleted, they don’t send an automated message.
  • Removed all reactions from Appraisals forum except for Agree and Disagree.
  • Removed the ability to react to posts in the Accepted Suggestions forum.
  • Removed notices telling users to turn off ad blocking extensions.

If you have any questions or concerns with any of these changes please let me know below or through a thread in suggestions.

Thanks!

I'm gonna be honest, this is the most mundane announcement there's been in a long while. The highlight of the announcement is "Forum Reorganization".

Genuinely hoping that these changes improve the forum, especially the scam report waiting time and by the looks of it, they will.

It surely was overhyped. Definitely wasn't worth the countdown on the homepage.

Unfortunately at the moment our limiting factor has been custom development. There are several months worth of custom development which I have planned, but we have been unable to get any work done due to NixFifty being busy recently. I am looking into hiring a second (and maybe third?) developer to make sure that we're able to put out updates as fast as possible.
I don't think this is true. There's plenty of possible improvements without the requirement of developers.

The problem is that there's over 18 pages of suggestions. The section lacks engagement and activity from you personally. The pending section for example has a bunch of threads which have been implemented/resolved/locked already. Same goes for the general suggestion section. They simply aren't being maintained.

Really important suggestions and discussions are left without engagement from you for a really long time which gives the impression that you might not care as much about specific features or implementations.

When I ran the forum, I never went over 5 pages of suggestions or something like that. It's not the most entertaining thing to but it's really necessary since that shapes the future of this forum.
