Hello MCM.

I have a suggestion that I think would be kinda neat. (I'M REALLY SORRY IF THIS HAS BEEN SUGGESTED BEFORE). MCM should have a friends system where you can send a person a friend request and they can accept it if they want. Any member would be able to see people's friends.

Idk what else to say about this lol.

It's WAAAY too much work to be worth it. We're not facebook. We're not Twitch. This site is a marketplace first, and a social hangout somewhere three steps down the line. Wasting resources like that would be pointless and foolish.

Change is not a bad thing. However, useless change that serves no practical purpose apart from making someone happy because they finally have friends IS a bad thing. This is not the purpose of this site.
adding a "friends" system adds literally nothing useful. It allows people to add each other as 'friends'. yay. Now what? Do we collect friends like we collect rep, vouches, reactions or trophies? do people that are 'friends' get some sort of privilege to PM each other directly? Oh wait, that's already a thing.

As I said, it adds nothing. Just because the "follow" has been around for a while does not mean it should not be so still. Don't fix something that isn't broken. Don't kick out old systems just for the sake of something "new" when the new is in no way an improvement.

"follow" is appropriate for a site like this. As I've said, this site is not aimed at making friends. It's not aimed at socializing. Therefore, arbitrarily changing something from a follow to a friend system is not needed, not practical, and should not be done.
