Hello fellow MCM Members,

I am Renelance. As of now, I do not have much knowledge of websites, and website hosting, however I am interested in releasing a website to the public for contact to be easier for those that do not have skype. I was wondering if anyone knows if I should use a shared host or a vps, and why. This website will also include my portfolio and such instead of imgur. I am currently not exactly sure what I should use, however I am looking for a semi-cheap hosting, with good service. If anyone has any information about this, feel free to reply below I am interested in seeking this knowledge.

Anyway, OP. You mentioned you have no intelligence in hosting a website but may I ask if you have intelligence of creating or designing one?

I have the basic knowledge, however I may get a WordPress website, pay someone to code me one, or just try to find things out myself.

I would personally recommend some cheap shared hosting since it's your first website and probably will not be resource intensive.

I know a place where you can get shared hosting for as cheap as $1.99 a month.

That's good and all but for a portfolio/contact website I think that would be a little over the top.
