Hello!

I know other competitors of mcm use this but it would be cool if you could make your own group on mcm and recruit people. For example if I make my group which is called 'Anime' then I would get the rank called 'Anime' and I could decide who joins.

Hope people can agree!

#YunoGang

Sounds like a fun idea but if you really want to talk with someone privately, add them on discord or Skype? You can have an unlimited amount of members and you wouldn't have any staff that can see the chat unless you invite them to do so.

and what exactly would be the practical point of this? I'm sure you'd have a lot of fun, but I don't see why McM should add a function for your enjoyment. Entertainment is not this site's main purpose, it's just a nice extra.

I actually like the idea, but beyond the fact its more for fun, than anything else. The problem I see though is this:

Drama - Something we are never short of here. I feel groups are likely to bicker with each other. People might (will) get quite annoyed to say the least if they where to get kicked from their group. This will lead to arguments in the DramaBox (ShoutBox) and staff having to deal with - rep complaints. Most people will get on fine with groups, but there are those that won't.

I'm not sure how much of a problem it would actually be though. Depends on how many cause problems. Just something to consider.

I think this may just cause more problems. If you give a group tags what is to say they aren't going to be like "Selling this OG Tag!" and the fact that setting it up would be a pain in the ass. Also, I'm not sure on this, but Xenforo may have a limit on the number of tags you can make so doing this.. Like the idea but not practical imo. Use discord or something.

Well to make sure it wouldn't be abused Mick can only add 20 ranks. And maybe after semester he would remove some or add more. If the owner would be banned I guess the group will be disbanded

I've had this suggestion in mind myself for a while now. I believe it's a great idea. The group name would be displayed underneath your social media information on your profile rather than a tag like Supreme or Premium. This way, it wouldn't be too invasive however would still display you as a part of that group. The largest benefit of this concept is that people can be represented through a group. For example, 'Dakr' would have a group page. Members would be presented to the visitor on that page so it's clear who is part of that group, and when browsing the forum people would know that member is in 'Dakr'. An example: A member is kicked from a group however they have scammed someone. The blame is still dumped on the group as the members is thought to still be in that team. Representing users in teams on the forum would discourage situation like this.

The idea of people ganging up is valid, however, there is nothing stopping people going off-site as Mint said and bickering there. If groups are used for bad, then they can be disbanded by a staff member. With this in mind, there could be ranks in groups like 'Moderator' or 'Admin' which would have increased privileges, such as being able to invite or kick members from the group.

I believe this is something beneficial and with all these build, graphics and hosting teams around, being able to represent your members on the market could not be done in any better way.

I can see how this may be useful/fun to have, but I can think of a lot of reasons why it shouldn't be implemented.

If a user takes the group "Anime", it would be considered an "OG Group name", and would become somewhat of an elite club. If there are several anime groups, people would argue over which is the best anime group.

And what happens if the group owner becomes inactive/banned? Who would become the new owner

If thos were to br implemented..maybe if you have a team (build team, design team, etc), my idea is to apply for a group using a form of some kind, and state the purpose of the group and will be decided by staff if it's appropriate to be made into a group.

IMO it's just too much of a hassle to manage, and if you want to state youre a part of a team, you can just change your user custom title (the message under your profile pic)

Yeah, completely agree.

This entire situation is just far too difficult and I could easily see this creating needless drama. If you want to make a group feel free to make a random and silly hashtag like #YunoGang or #MickeyGang or whatever.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
