I am in no way trying to criticize the staff nor am I trying to get new staff hired. I'm just saying this because this site really needs it.
Mick, I understand that your job is NOT easy. I'm sure it's very stressful managing a community this large, and at the age of only 14 it's really impressive. However, me along with many other members feel that the community is often left out of major decisions, such as staff promotions, site additions, and any other site related decisions. I think this should be changed. Mick, you can say that the community will become more involved, but those words are an empty promise unless you put action behind it. I'm specifically saying this due to what you wrote about a month ago.

My point is that everything should be voted on, staff, site additions, etc.
You may say that voting for staff may result in a popularity contest, and I understand where you're coming from, however I could simply say the same about the way you choose your staff. It could be about who you like the most or who you think is the most popular. It may not always be the case, but it could be. Same applies for my suggestion. Another version of this popularity contest could occur if the community voted, or it could not. If it could possibly happen either way, we may as well have the community vote. Here's another example. I know you're not American, but you probably understand that government officials are elected via votes. Take an election with a very good candidate, versus a very popular celebrity which is stupid. Now who would win if they run for president? Obviously the good candidate, even if the person is popular they likely don't want the person running their country. I know that's an extreme example but you get the idea.
I think everything should be voted on, this would make MCM a better site, as it'd be run by the community.
