Hey guys, so some of you know that I'm manager of a few Youtubers and some of us guys have started offering hourly advertising. It works pretty simply, basically the Youtuber uploads a 30second video saying they are playing on the server and leave it up while they are on the server playing. We have offered some previous tests and so far we have seen around 60-100 players joining per hour with the service, all prices are negotiated and we aim for similar prices to .org renting.

How about do some free test trials to see if they actually work, if there seems to be a boost on a few servers, maybe you might get sales.

Who's to say we don't, this has generated a lot of interest.

Well, for the record. When players join from a .org slot, there not joining because there favorite youtuber is playing the server, so theres more of a chance of them staying from a .org

Once the youtuber leaves, so do they. 90% of them will direct connect, not even saving the IP.

This idea is honestly a waist of money.

Honestly, I partly agree. However, to be fair I don't think it's as bad as you say it is. With any form of advertising if you have an efficient way to convert the players from wanting to see the Youtuber to playing for fun then you'll see great results.

I'm currently in the process of making a very formalized report on the longterm and short term effects of this advertising method, I still think however that you should give it a little more credit than you are. Everyone pre-judges me on this forum because of nigtherblde, I don't feel the need to defend myself against him since I was never in the wrong.

I mean if youtubers accutaly played on good servers, not just ones they get paid to go on, then that's a good form of advertising.

That defeats the purpose of finding advertising for your server. A good portion of what defines having a good server is a 100+ playerbase.

Only one of the people on that list are people I work with. Also, you can pre-judge me all you want. You can chuck me an add on Skype and discuss this instead of saying that I'm a scammer. I have full reports on the players it brings and the player retention you can expect. The prices listed previously are also highly negotiable and depend entirely on the time of day and server.

No I would just make sure you watch yourself if he doesn't respond don't keep trying, it will make him slip away from your deal.

Honestly, the people will come on for a couple of hours for the only purpose of meeting a youtuber. They won't try and actually play the game, just track down where the youtuber is, and bother the shit out of them. And as soon as the Youtuber leaves, so does everyone else. So no donations, no more playerbase from the Youtuber, and you just spent 90 dollars for nothing. It would have been more useful if you wiped your ass with it
