So for the past year, quite a lot has happened to me. I’ll go in chronological order.

October-November 2017 My Grandma dies 2 weeks after she’s been moved into a second care home because the one she was in for 2 years couldn’t provide the support for her. (She had dementia). Because I hadn’t seen her much for the last 2 years, it didn’t affect me quite as much as the other events.

January 2018 A friend from my primary school, Evie, died of brain cancer. Me and many of my friends came to the funeral.

March-April 2018 My granddad dies at the age of 94. This affected me much more than the past two events because I saw him just two days before his death, and had no idea it’s be so sudden.

This weekend
My mum speaks to me and my brother about divorcing my dad because he’s always sulking, never apologises and has been in a foul mood for no reason over the last week or two.

The first three things on this list I can’t do anything about, but what should I do about the fourth? Of course, I do love him as he’s my dad, but I don’t know if I like him much anymore...

Just to add on, my dad makes pretty much all the money so our new house would be pretty small if we left our current big one.

Thank you for reading,
Harry <3

It's life, it sucks and hurts like a bitch. My parents are divorced and have 1 grandparent left. But it doesn't matter if they are gone, they will always been in you, in your heart. You focus on what you want to achieve, they will be proud <3

My parent's divorced for the same reason. And it was for the better, after the divorce my dad reflected over what he had done and changed himself in a positive way. He's now a much better person. It will get better my man, look at it from the positive side.

I’m just worried that it won’t, they’ve been married for 15 years and he’s only got worse... (mum’s words)

Life is tough man, it may get better, it may get worse. Unfortunately you can only look forward and you shouldn't look to the past. Your father most likely truly doesn't want to lose his wife, however I think he is just going through something that isn't as simple as telling people. Divorces suck, they really do. Leaving a child with only 1 parent in the picture, even if it's just rotating weeks it sucks. Because then your mom finds a new guy and your forced to bring him into the picture and love him when you have mixed feelings. You really can't replace the person who raised you when you were little... Give it some time, try and talk to her. Talk to him. Get into a personal conversation with him that is heartfelt.
I hope the best for you, life sucks, emotions suck.. But we don't have much of a choice.
Best of luck for you in the coming future. <3
