Ideas for New Ultimate Perks

Ahoy boys,

Our Ultimate account upgrade was released exactly 1 year ago today, and during that time the features of it have stayed relatively unchanged from what they previously were. This past year we have been incredibly busy with custom development and not had as much time as we would have liked to dedicate towards adding new features and perks to the rank, but going forward into our XF2 migration it will be much more of a focus for us.

Currently, Ultimate users receive all of Supreme's features, plus:

• 'U' prefix in chat.
• Access to the past 7 days of chat history.
• Ability to use 2-letter usernames.
• Ability to change username every 14 days.
• Autobump a thread every 24 hours.
• Create cover photos for threads and resources.
• Upload larger profile cover photos.
• Disable reactions on the original post of your threads.
• Option to disable sidebar banners in preferences.
• Ability to give up to 5 reputation per day.
• Option to use any of the $5 username colours.
• Ability to use additional BBCodes for thread formatting.

The purpose of this suggestion thread is to get a compilation of your ideas for what we could add to the Ultimate account upgrade on MCM and for your feedback on the following ideas:

1. Vanity URLs. Stolen straight from Discord, a system that allows for any Ultimate user to create a redirect from any of their MCM threads, resources, and profile to an easy to remember link such as https://mc-market.org/lemon or mc.mk/lemon
2. Exclusive smilies. Once again similar to Discord Nitro, a set of ~10 smilies that can be used as an Ultimate user. I figured that we'd leave what exact smilies they are up to a vote, but they'd have to be appropriate/not encourage shitposting
3. A powerful API. This has been something we've been discussing for quite a while and there have been a bunch of suggestion threads about it. XF2 has a built-in API system and there are a handful of cool addons which we could look into to get this released hopefully relatively soon after our XF2 migration is completed
4. Possibly some more advanced theme options. Premium users can select between light/dark theme, Supreme users can select the colour of their theme, and so perhaps Ultimate could have some sort of more advanced option that can be enabled? I'd love to know what sort of ideas you have for this since I can't think of something better than being able to make the background an image and that just sounds super ugly

Those are all of the ideas I've liked most for what we could add for our Ultimate users in our XF2 migration, but I'd really love to know what you have to say. I don't want for any of the features we add to be too "overpowered" in the sense that they provide some huge benefit that everyone should have, but I would like to make the $5/mo pricetag more justified.

Being able to choose the color of your name (hexadecimal value) and have a set of gradients available solely for ultimate members.

I think he said gradients will always be charity only.

Okay neat, so make it 5%. Just throwing numbers in the air. I think it could be a very popular feature though. And by the way, since this is a digital product, that means there's no limitation of it, so if it means more people buying adds and MCM earning a bit less per ad but selling more ads, is it that bad?

API for everyone, not just ultimate

1. This would be a cool feature but you should only have the option to create 1-2 custom name color (single color) and would not be accessible if you no longer have Ultimate
2. This would be a neat idea but have the BBCode not count toward the character count, or at the least, up the character count
3. I personally do not see this happening since in my opinion, it can be abused. Someone can nick themselves, say some stuff, change their name and possibly evade being given a reputation (if what they say warrants a reputation) since no one looks at the number id (/member/numbers) when giving out reputation, people go based off of their username. A logging system would need to be implemented and I think that would be unnecessary work just for a nick system in chat

6. None of the perks for any rank should interfere with the moderation/support on here. That would look bad if MCM forced people to pay to get 'fast' support and would just be a deterrent to use MCM
7. I'm iffy on this since Ultimate members only pay $5 a month ($60 a year) and I'm not quite sure if a discount on ads would be appropriate. But on the other hand, it might entice members to pay the monthly fee to get a discount. 50/50 on this suggestion
8. It would be good if there were more payment gateways for resources other than just BTC such as other online currencies, CashApp, etc

Why a Discord server? Mick and Justis have already said MCM isn't getting an official Discord, and this is pretty much it; just a Discord for a certain rank. There are currently only 56 members with Ultimate so regardless of that, I doubt it would even be worth it. Anyone in the community can create a Discord with just Ultimate members since you can see who is Ultimate on the Members page.
